Anyone have any information on person/persons that would steal only money or loose change from glove compartments of vehicles in the middle of the night while folks are sleeping. Suspect person/persons live in the Mabscott to Beckley area (Crescent RD), are on foot, and probably involved with drugs. I just want to personally thank them - especially for the small, yellow, LED flashlight with a "dual dragon" decoration on the side. This was dropped in my car when my dogs got after them in mid-heist. That flashlight has been sent for finger-printing. Stupid pill heads.

Then not only do you have to replace your stolen items, but a window to. Better off just leaving it unlocked.

Someone tried to break my car window once but luckily my windows are tinted and the glass broke, but was kept together with the tint. So yes people do still break windows.

My car was broken into also. My doors WERE LOCKED and they are still getting into my car. Luckily I don't keep anything important in my car so they didn't get much but that's not the point. The point is that it's MY stuff. I can't stand a damn thief. Get a job. Buy your own shit and leave mine alone!!!

It has happened to me and my neighbors more than once...and heres the kicker...I had spare keys to my vehicle in the center console and they didn't steal my car so they must be just looking for pills or money. I also, always lock my car.

If this happens to anyone else - PLEASE report it to the Beckley PD. They WILL take fingerprints - it takes about 3-6 months to run them through CODIS in Charleston. They DO have leads. They HAVE already arrested several groups doing this. I only lost $1.50 in change, however, it is the principal of the matter. An invasion of home security is serious when you have a family with small children. Let's get these walking dead pill-heads off the streets. Every bit of info will help pinpoint their locations (Old Mill Road?)hmmm.

The thieves took about $25 in 50 cent pieces from my car and several signed ball cards...we had just moved in and forgot these were in the car. We called Beckley PD and they did not take fingerprints...said they would patrol more but had several other break ins.....but we have learned our lesson....thieves are everywhere but it is really unsettling when you have small children.

Actually they do still break windows. One of the guys that live in my apt building had his passenger window broken and they didn't take anything from the vehicle other than $3.00. He had all sorts of tools and what not inside. I assume the robbers didn't want to bother with a pawn shop. Just hunting for quick drug money most likely. This happened Thanksgiving night or early Friday morning. Could be the same people but cars get broken into all the time. The police officer that showed up said quite a few had already been reported in that area. No dusting for fingers prints because they donít show up on the car interior so we were told.

I never said the police couldn't lift prints. It's a court approved method of identification. I'm just saying that it isn't like the show csi where they lift a partial print off a ham sandwich, put it in a computer and 2 seconds later John Doe suspect pops up. Pretty sure it don't work that way. If you paid attention in class you would know that in certain weather conditions ( extreme heat, extreme cold, snow, frost, dew, rain,) and actions such as smearing the print, or overlapping prints all effect the outcome of a potential lift. Also, prints cannot be lifted off some materials such as wood - because it absorbs a print ( which is just oil ). All I'm saying is its not the miracle cure some might expect. The best bet is to install a security camera system in/around you home. That's practically fail proof.

Ok, I mention no prints were taken because the officer said none would have been found based on the car's interior, that's all. Not once did I make a statement regarding whether you commented on prints or not. I was just giving the info out there to others who have had it occur; not complaining in any way how it was handled. I did not even say that prints should have been taken...how in the world did you get that rant from one simple sentence? Calm down.

Weird how they're breaking in just for change. My jeep was broken into in maxwell hill and they only took a pack of cigarettes and some change from me. They left my snowboard, DJ equipment, and tools. I guess it was too much for them to carry lol.
