You need to have a grand opening and make sure the chamber send out an email blast, this will make more business people aware than a topix post.
Also, go to the Lost Parrot and McBee's and find something to make your place a little different and the Parrot's Pizza is pretty freakin good. GOOD LUCK!

It's gotta be better than Calacinos. Yay for new!
You know, I have to agree. Anything has to be better than there. When we went, we were given glasses with sludge on the inside at the bottom and poor service. I hated it actually and swore to never go back. I am so happy to hear about a kid-friendly pizza place! I was afraid to post anything about Calacino
s because of who all is involved in it and thought I would get slammed on here, lol. I am really glad to hear that there is a new, exciting future for uptown Beckley! Yay!

We had our food delivered to us today. It took them an hour an a half to bring us our food. So not happy. I ordered a calzone and the girls I worked with ordered pizza. Our food was cold once it got here of course. The calzone was way to small for the price. My coworkers were not pleased with there food either. Didn't realize it until after they left that they totally screwed up on our bill. They charged us for something that cost $16. Tried to call and complain but the phone was busy. I would not recommend them at all. If you'd like good food try romas they make awesome calzones and theyre very cheap for the food you get. Plus they deliver on time!!!

I apologize that your order was really messed up. We got hit harder than expected and was trying to put everything out correctly and on time. There were times of confusion and something happened that couldn't have been avoided. Trust me that we will continue to strive to get better and want to bring a positive place for all to enjoy. I appreciate all that have ordered in our first two days. We definitely want to get everything right and give our customers a great impression. I ask that if your experience was not want you intended it to be then please come back in a few weeks to give us a second chance. It's understandable that you may just want to stay away. Hopefully something that our business provides allows you to get better enjoyment from your experience next time. We have had alot of people give us great comments, but of course we've had our bad ones. We plan and are determined to succeed and welcome anyone that would like to come out and check us out.
Thanks for your visit!

Hey Clint,
You're right to question Kurt Wiegand. He has been arrested in the state of Kentucky and indicted for identity theft. That's only 2 of his clients that has come forward. There has been MANY others that has called his wife and her family of his devious ways. Do not trust this man.

I cant wait to try your place, I work at a uptown and have family members that work at two of the bars. I am excited about all of the changes and wish your buisness well. And I'll tell you the same thing I tell others. Topix is not a place that is typical of nice converation or positive criticism. The more you respond , the worse it gets.... so I wouldnt bother trying to defend yourself or letting ignorance get to you. The first couple months there will be problems while you are working out the kinks ... but you will do just fine !!!! See ya soon :)

What, beer and pizza? Yeah, Pies and Pints definitely invented that combination. Idiots. Give this place a few weeks to work out the kinks, i'll be it has staying power.

Nobody can come close to Pies & Pies. Slice of Life doesn't even compare to Walmart frozen pizza. I didn't like this place at all. The pizza crust was thin the bottom of it was soggy & the pizza literally feel apart, my fries were still frozen & they ran out of small pizza plates to give us. Thumbs down for Slice of Life. I won't be going back. Oh & don't park in the parking lot. It's to tiny you can barely pull in the spots or even turn ur vehicle around.

SOL crust is thin as tissue paper. You need an electron scanning microscope to find the cheese. I think it was $15.99. No green pepper, sweet onion, olives, or much of anything except it did have decent amount of meat on it.

I thought the place was clean. Fries have a browned look like they were in a fire in another life. Tasted weird too.

If you are going to advertise gourmet pizza.. then SELL GOURMET pizza. They don't even stock or sell anchovies. If you don't like them, ok, but a lot of people do. Honestly I can make a lot better at home, with Martha White Pizza dough mix and my own store bought ingredients for A LOT LESS.

My family tried Slice of Life a week or so ago and I was not impressed. We ordered a pizza with pesto sauce on it. Picked it up they put regular pizza sauce on it and it was like everyone said....very thin crust. The part of crust with stuff on it was very wet but the other end broke apart and was very dry. Fries that came with the kids spaghetti were burnt to a crisp. I understand that they are new but if they can't do any better than this in the beginning they should've trained a little more. They can't say they were busy because when I went in to pick up my order there were 2 other families there. I used to work in a pizza place and understand the way these places run. They just plain and simple have bad dough. I love the idea of a place like this in Beckley. I really think they will get better with time and will give them another shot further down the road. I wish them luck!

Don't go after dark. It gets dark In there. Hold your wallet tight. They will rob u on the pizza and then u may get robbed by the spooks on the way out. Another business ruined by the bad part of beckley.
