Such a sad story....so much accomplished and so much to live for and now it's all gone. Isn't that Dr. House on the TV show an addict? Maybe she got the idea from him.

I read an interesting article about pain docs being addicts. This was written by an anesthesiologist that was addicted. Most pain doctors are specialists in anethesa. It is believed that because of administering drugs during surgery that they either breathe some in or it can get into their pores (fentynal, etc).

If interested here is the article. It is about a doctor/anesthesiologist that had a raging addiction.

I'm so glad you know so much about her. She didn't wreck because she was on drugs, she has epilepsy. As a person that has seizures and grew up with a Mom with epilepsy, I don't think you have the right to judge anybody. God is our judge, and he also reads all the comments that is wrote. So unless you was there and took the drug test on her, you have NO ideal if any drugs were involved at that time.

Don't matter, whether she was on drugs when she wrecked or not. What matters is she is/was a doctor treating patients and DEALING DRUGS and possibly under the influence while treating patients!!! Doctors who get caught in any type of drug activities should have the book thrown at them and forever loose their license! They, along with cops, are thought to be someone to look up too and trust... IT IS A SAD THING WHEN SOMETHING LIKE THIS HAPPENS! We have a child in our family with ADHD and I hate to think that pills that are meant to help children with this problem are being misused by doctors and such! SO, is this where are children learn a little about drug abuse? By hearing how the doc abuses drugs... by taking them theirselfs or selling them?

the real truth,

I have epilepsy. The state of w.v.will not allow me to drive. You should know this if there is epilepsy in your background.

That made her "accident" just as illegal as though she was on drugs.

Your arguement does not hold water.

You said she wrecked having a seizure. I also had a child with ADHD. Yes it's very sad this happened, but I also know she has a family and friends that love her no matter what, and they are reading this stuff. Your children will learn everywhere, and mainly what they hear at home and on this stupid computer.

Well I guess you know it all. My Mother is 72 and still drives. I was told by my doctor, I was still aloud to drive for now. So maybe you would like to tell him, he's wrong, oh that's right all doctors are whatever you think. I do not have epilepsy, I have a seizure disorder. I said my Mother had epilepsy. She doesn't live in WV. My disorder comes from a women in a hury to go to Walmart and crashed into me, causing some damage. You know NOTHING about me, so get a life.

the real truth,

We are talking about a doctor who ignores and breaks laws.It is quite possible your own doctor doesn't know the legal ramifications of driving when the possibility of having a seizure is there.Or was it ABC?

As for both you and your mother, when either of you have a seizure, for whatever reason, and run into a school bus full of kids, killing half of them, are you going to pull the same act,"oohhhh-I had a seizure",just because the both of you are too damn stupid to realize there could possibly be adverse
effects for your unwillingness to give up a personal freedom now instead of keeping it until you kill people? I don't have to frigging know you to know your frigging mentality.

Have a bitching day.Stay home, don't kill any innocents today.

Isn't it ironic that the place she has worked at for several years, Med-Surg Group, has not been mentioned on any of the news reports or newspaper articles? They are a big part of this. That place is the WORST place to work at. I worked there for 2 months & I left. When I was told that "a monkey" could do my job I knew it was time to go. Other Doctors there have had drug problems in the past & they are still practicing & working there today. Everyone that works there should be drug tested & you would be surprised at how few are left!

Sorry but I didn't say she wrecked having a seizure.. I wouldn't know anything about that.... and as for my children learning... I did not mean they would learn from her... although they will, by hearing it on the news about her..duh. But I did mean, although I didn't say it that way, is that it is sad that you might have a druggie for a doctor and not know it and they may be treating you while under in the influence... or writing scripts for someone who just may be one of those out there that turn around and try to sell those same pills they just got filled to your son or daughter, or other family member. Yes, she has a family and I feel sorry for them and for her... but like I said.. the profession she chose is one that people look up to.

I agree 100% on all of your posts! You are absolutely right, a person that has a history of seizures DO NOT get to keep their license!! If it was me that had seizures, then not only for the other person but my own safety as well, I WOULD NOT drive!! It's very hard for me to comprehend that ANY Dr. would let a person keep driving that has a seizure history, and that Dr. not report it to DMV!!! A Dr. is taking a big ass risk him/herself for not reporting this, if he/she knows this patient has a seizure history.

i think its hilarious that people believe drug dealers have to push the product on kids lmao! so far from the truth, nobody forces anyone to buy drugs, the supply simply meets the demand, you will never win your "war on drugs" as long as the people want drugs there will be someone willing to sell their drugs!

hahahahah @ stupid people

My outrage about this newspaper article is that a trusted physician betrayed her oath to do no harm! Who cares if she has a seizure disorder? This certainly did not hinder her from abusing drugs and selling prescriptions! Oh, Boo Hoo, I had a seizure, give me some oxycodone, aderal, and xanax......

Did you see her picture on the jail web site? She looked about 60 years old and must really be suffering some major withdrawl.

They should throw the book at her! She took $800.00 to prescribe schedule II drugs then wanted a share of them! It is the crooked, drug-addicted physicians who contribute to the prevelant problem of prescription drug abuse in southern WV.

Lock em up, lock em up, lock em up!

Hi Bootsie, I checked out the site you sited and am just..astonished. It's truly frightening. If this problem is as prevalent as they are reporting, then anesthesiologists should be required to take random drug tests. It is for the safety of the public, and if they have nothing to hide, they hide nothing and would not have a problem taking the test. Unbelievable.

a person with a history of seizures can still keep their license. I have 2 family members that have a history of seizures, 1 has epilepsy and the other just has a seizure disorder. THe 1 with epilepsy does not no longer have her license, but the other one does and works hard adn drives everyday. The only times he doesn't drive is when he feels bad. By the way the docs and DMV know of the seizure history so therefore those of you who think you know what you are talkin about don't. They base it on how often your seizures occur and how severe they are. you may want to look up what you talkin about before you post info that is not right.

Well that sure as hell needs changed. Niether one should be on the road if there is the slightest chance of them having a seizure.
