No, but we got stopped at the scene just after it happened. The police and the ambulances were already there. We only saw one victim, but have since heard there were two. My father lives in Richwood, and we were there on vacation riding our Harley there. I did see the positioning of the truck, and the motorcycle, but cannot really decipher which direction each was travelling. I have some speculations, but that's it. Thanks, Jeff

Below is a copy of the article printed in the Beckley newspaper. It doesn't' provide much information, and I haven't heard any names. Two killed in Nicholas wreck By Amelia A. Pridemore Register-Herald reporter Two people were killed Saturday in a motorcycle/pickup truck collision in Nicholas County, authorities said. The accident at the intersection of U.S. 19 and Mount Lookout Road was reported just before noon, according to the Nicholas County Emergency Operations Center. The wreck involved a motorcycle and a pickup truck, the latter of which caught fire. The accident was under investigation by State Police. No further information was available Saturday night.

I was in Wal mart and heard a couple of the cashiers discussing the accident shortly after it happened. It sounded like the motorcycle victim was an employee of Wal Mart but she didn't know who it was. She said the pick up truck and motorcycle hit head on.

My heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of this family. How sad! WV needs to crack down on driver's who neglect to watch for motorcycles. Massive jail time and permanent driver license suspension would be a start. LOOK TWICE FOR BIKES!!!!

I don't believe that it was neglect on the driver's part. He is an elderly gentleman who didn't see the bike. Several families are destroyed because of this unfortunate wreck. Everyone needs to be praying fervantly for them.

In response to "MOTHER OF A HARLEY RIDER", "He didn't see the bike is the worst excuse EVER!! He would have seen it if he had been looking! Every time a person in a cage (CAR) kills one of us, that is what they say...Plus, being elderly is not an excuse either. Maybe its time to reevaluate the license. To quote my buddy Sporty 1200, LOOK TWICE!!!!! MOTORCYCLES ARE EVERYWHERE!!

I have almost hit motorcyles before because I just didn't see them AND I LOOKED. It was a terrible accident. Have a heart.

I agree that maybe there should be reevaluations for drivers. I am only saying that you can look three or four times and still this can happen. This is why they are called accidents. I just hope and pray that this kind of thing doesn't happen to anyone else. There needs to be compassion for the ones left behind. As I said before, several families are destroyed because of this. We reap what we sow. Lets remember this when we bash others so quickly.

I drove up on it right after. No emergency vehicles were there yet. It has really upset me. I've never seen anything like it before and I hope I never do again. I hate it for everyone involved, I wish them all the best. I was almost happy that it was a father and son, they didnt have to die alone and they are still together. I now appricate motorcycle drivers more, and it terrifies me driving around them. They have no protection except for a helment. These poor two didnt have much of chance, even with a helment. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone involved.

Yes, LOOK TWICE!! Motorcycles are becoming even more popular due to the raging gas prices. All driver's are to come to COMPLETE STOPS at all stop signs, intersections, etc. it's the LAW! STOP and LOOK TWICE!!!! I have ridden for over 25 years and it never fails, some driver is staring right at me but still pulls directly out into my path. Did you not see me? You were looking right at me! Can you not see my headlight? LOOK TWICE!! Laws need to change and change now! Pay attention while driving or stop driving period! My sincere condolences to the families!

Why don't you have a heart and turn in your license before you seriously injure or worse, kill someone, because you can't see. Do the world a favor and stop driving!
