In the state of West Virginia, if a adult gets drunk at a bar and pulls out of the bar and kills someone, the BAR is held accountable.

No different at the speedway. Any person who says, "If your kid is there and they get drunk, its the parents fault." is simply stupid. Any state trooper who allows such a thing, says allot about who they are.

Any person who agrees with such actions should not be permitted to be a parent, or a business owner.

J.J has a 24/7 obligation to uphold the law. If he is out of uniform and walks into a situation, he has an obligation as an officer to enforce the law. To say he gets a pass cause he is moonlighting is pathetic.

He calls the police... hahahahahaha! you are full of crap. They are the talk of the town alright... Beckley speeday... Underage drinking allowed... state police approved cause they make money at it"

The new slogan for the speedway.

Tell me what kind of parent drops a 15 year old off at a racetrack at 5pm and waits til 1am to pick them back up?? You're the idiot. The kids are getting drunk on liquor.. The bar only sells two kinds of beer. Your kids are sneaking the liquor in the track in drink bottles. Again, the racetrack is not a daycare! Personally I think that when a child is caught drinking the police and the dhhr needs to be called.

Its amazing to me that people are not talking about the great racing that has been going on! Different winners each night! Kenny Wallace came to the track....now when has that ever happened? They are doing a great job at the race track! And I'm not sure how anyone is getting alcohol into that place. Cramer Security goes through every cooler that comes into the place! Or at least they did ours! I guess you could hide a bottle of liquor on your body and they couldnt find it! I went to the bar and bought some beer and those 2 girls ID me EVERY time! So....if your kids out there drinking keep them HOME!!! Love that the race track is open and running good! Can't wait till this weekend! Dirt Track on Friday Night and MX on Sunday!

Who is responsible for letting the child have the drink on the speedway property? One thing constant in this thread has been people mentioning underage drinking. If you are going to sell it, you have to be responsible in policing it on your property.

Name me one business in the United states where underage drinking is permitted?

If a child walks by with a beer can in their hand, the fun stops... people end up dead because of behavior like that. Then ad that everyone is saying a state trooper is managing the location... WOW! I would think the police would have issues with that!

People who throw a blind eye to things like that, simply lose allot of self respect in my opinion.

Well,,,,if you really think there are 2000 people in the stands at the race track and teenagers are just strolling by with a beer can in their hands and NONE of the people are saying or doing anything about it, you obviously are just stupid!! Im sure their are at least a few in the crowd(such as myself) who are smart enough to either say something to them directly or go to security which is located everywhere and report it! Im pretty sure you are just running your mouth because you have nothing better to do! Maybe you should go watch a baseball game - no alcohol there! Or bring your kid and actually stay with them and make sure they arent doing anything wrong!!

They ID me everytime I walk into the bar! So you say kids are getting drunk? What do you suggest they do....a full airport security scan of their body as they come through the gate? I bet that would go over really well with the parents of these little angels!

I thought state troopers were not allowed to moonlight? They are paid to do SD work by the state who gets reimbursed from the contractor or who ever they are working for. I guess owning a liquor sorry beer serving Is ok as long as everything is in your wife's name. Maybe the head of the state police don't know what Is happening in Beckley do for all you people who has a problem should call charleston to lodge your objection on super trooper joe j

So let me get this straight...now you think because the guy is a trooper that his wife can't have a business? Are you really seriouse? Just about every household I know the husband & wife work! And apprarently you dont come to the races or you would see what he & she does at the race track! Just be GLAD you have the option to go racing if you want! I love it and Im glad they are doing a good job! Stop giving them greif, just don't go!!!

Not only what Lovin Racin said, but a trooper isn't allowed to have his own private life? That's just ridiculous. Not only that, how is it moonlighting when he isn't even takig care of that? That's what security is hired for. He is taking care of the track - you can see him every night in the middle of the track. As I stated in another thread, there are always those who no matter what comes around they have to bash it. Nothing is ever good enough. That track brings people in to spend money in OUR area, and is a great form of entertainment we get to have every friday night. Those that always want to ruin it for everyone else are bitter, and can't be pleased regardless of the subject.

If he is a trooper and working for his wife, or calling his police position, "His other job..." then yes, he can not.

Quit making the choice to be in law enforcement, the same as working at WalMart. They are not doing great. They are sustaining a short term venture, that after it is said and done, will be going back to failing at making t shirts for organizations.

I think the State police need notified to check into his behavior at these places. This thread has at least 3 people claiming there is under age drinking going on. At least 2 people who support the track have also admitted that drinking takes place where minors are partaking of this drinking.

When it all said and done, this behavior always catches up with you in some form or manner. What they do outside the race track at daddy Rabbits is just as important.

I am sorry "rednecks" aren't better people. Red necks usually fall under the category of not caring about anything but themselves. I have something better to do alright... it is not the point of whether someone goes to a place where drinking is, or not going to a place where drinking is... it is about being responsible with the drinking that is going on while you are the one selling it.

It must be hard to be so bad tempered that you defend bad business practices such as permitting kids to drink at the races. The problem you fail to see is that the same type of people flock to each other. From what has been read here, plainly the racetrack is no more than a BAR with cars. Congrats! A bunch of "rednecks" catering to "rednecks"... amazing!

Who wants to go to a place where the only thing you can be proud of is the very same thing people can do at a gutter alley bar. Only you add cars with it! Family entertainment at its finest. hahahahaha.

I also own and operate a business and I enjoy taking my family to the races and I do not think of myself as a Redneck. My kids are 5,8,and 14 and they love the races. They see alot of their friends there and none of them have been drinking. I have also met Mr. & Mrs. Jackson, they seem to be doing very well with the race track and are doing alot for the community and kids in the area. I will be going this Friday to support my "Redneck" activity. I would like to invite you plad, cotton and the few others to join us. The Jackson's are donating a dollard from each ticket to Children's Miracle Network. Im sure they didn't have to do this but I think alot of them for stepping up for the kids! Hopefully its never your kid that needs medical attention and the cost is not covered. It's only $10.00 to get in so please join me at the races and see for yourself that until you go...you don't even know.

I have been to races where I do see children drinking, adult drinking, and people drinking as their leaving in their cars. Supporting the kids could be done a whole lot more constructive than promoting drinking, driving, and youth with beer. I cxan support the kids better than putting money into placces like a dirt track.

If you have seen this behavior with your own eyes, You are no better for not reporting it to the authorities. A simple call to 911 should do it. I would hate to see a drunk driver crash and kill a family and know I did nothing to stop it.
