They are very slow however Primary Care is alot slower. I mean you go in Primary Care and there is a note on the sign in that says two hours wait and there is only two people in waiting room. I'd really like to know why they have so many employee's and WTF they are doing. Even the female doctor was slow as He** After i got in a room i sat in there for 45min and finally i opened door and asked if they ahd forgt about me. Id choose Med-Espress over them anyday!

One visit, it was bad experience. Still, you have to go into those "Doc In A Box" understanding that it a crap shoot for medical service.

Went there and they did a gloucose test and said it was 63. I told them no way. The PA came in and i asked for another one and she said they couldn't do another one. She finally did and it was 260. Wonder how many people have been done that way. Not going back again.

I have heard a lot of people say that they don't like it, i like primary care plus better. Med Express is overpriced and not very good. All you see are PA's. What happened to all the doctors? Beckley is in serious need of some good doctors. We are only an income for them, they could care less about our health.

About the doctors, not only med express, doctors in general, it's a hit and miss, mostly miss in our area. Although sad it's true some care for money more then pt care.:( med express has one doctor everyday and 2 PA's. I think they are very nice at med express though. As far as being overpriced, they are not a sliding scale office, if you can't afford a big bill which I know how you feel there is a few places that offer the sliding scale which might be more suitable. I haven't seen a doc office that isn't expensive, other then the sliding scale ones.

i took my 2 year old daughter there...i was amazed at how fast they got her in a room only to set there forever when the doctor finally seen her she acted like she knew what she was doing until i got a script and went to riteaid to have it filled and was told the amount she had written to give my daughter would have overdosed an adult.. I WONT BE GOING BACK

I would report the PA or doctor. That is so scarey. Thank God for the people at Riteaid who caught it.

I have been to Med Express several times, for myself and taking my kids. Seems like I'm the only one on here but I really like it. We dont have health insurance so we pay one price $115 and that includes our office visit and any strep or flu tests. We never have to wait very long. I've always had good experiences there.

I didn't have insurance and i only paid $59.00 at Primary Care Plus and they try to give good meds on the $4.00 list, if possible when you are sick. I will stick with them. The prices are better.

If you don't pay your bill, after insurance pays their part, or your deductible hasn't been met, as soon as you get it and not just pay a payment, they will turn you in to a collection agency. I got a letter from a lawyer wanting payment before my insurance company ever got their part paid. And, it was for a small amount, not like I owed a big bill!

i went there on 09/24 they told me i had an inner ear infection. i got my prescription. the following friday i went back because my ear hurt even worse. the pa said i now had in inner and outer ear infection she prescribed me two more prescriptions. she told me to come back in three days to see if anitbiotic was working. when i went back three days later they told me it would be another $115 i just walked out i will go back to primary care if i don't see an improvement when i finish the antibiotics. i spent $230 to see the doctor in less than two weeks and they wanted another 115.00. what do they think everyone has insurance or have high paying jobs.

U need to go back and talk to the head boss. If u go once and they treat u and u come back with in 10 days with the same problem they can't charge u again. They owe u money.

I've always had good experiences there. But I always go as soon as they open and hardly ever wait more than 10 minutes. They even follow up with a phone call.

My daughter's father took her to Med Express a couple of years ago. She was very ill and I had taken her to her regular doctor two or three times, to the hospital a couple of times, and they all said it was a virus. Well, being a mother I knew better. Anyway, at Med Express they said she had a thyroid condition and to take her to the hospital ASAP and they were calling in a specialist to see her. Scared me half to death, of course, and when I got to RGH my ex said that the good folks at Med Express had reached the thyroid conclusion not due to a blood test, but because her neck looked puffy. And the "specialist"? Dr. Molonzo from Rural Acres. Uh huh. So I left out of there with her and ended up taking her to Primary Care Plus where she was x-rayed and diagnosed with some pretty serious pneumonia. I wouldn't go back there unless it was a last resort.

He had double pnumonia all 3 lobes of his lungs, with numerious infection pockets in his lungs.. He was in ICU for a week.. An then took my mom there back in November.. I asked them 4 times to check her sugar cuz i couldnt find her meter, they never did.. The next morning she was almost Comatose from her sugar bein to high and was in a severe case of DKA... She was sent to Charelston from RGH an was in ICU for 2 1/2 weeks... I will NEVER go back after they done that to my husband AND mom...

First of all, there are 5 total lung lobes. I have firsthand experience with medexpress. The comment about "always having to see a PA" and "where are all the doctors" - most PA's are more attentive and caring than doctors. PA's have the same educational backgrounds as docs just condensed into fewer years. Also, the guy with the ear infection that didn't go away and had to be treated again - ear infections are caused by multiple different bacterias, none if which are always the same in a person. An antibiotic I given to treat a broad number of them but there are always resistant bacterias or ones that aren't covered, so another different antibiotic or treatment may be needed. That does not mean that it was treated incorrectly the first time around. Also pts are seen there by order of arrival time, unless you are Medicaid or Medicare, then you must see the doctor, not a PA, which can sometimes result in longer wait times. Follow-up visits for the same problem within 10 days are all covered under the first visit fee. Things are a lot different on the other side. Be thankful that people go to school to become practictioners to treat everyone. BTW I think it's ridiculous for people that have "the card" go for treatment and complain about wait time or something trivial - well you're welcome for the free healthcare that I pay for you to have! Just my 2 cents....
