It seems to me that the teachers through a fit last time drug testing was brought up. I have heard of many pill head teachers.

Bus drivers ARE tested regularly, isn't that so?... And as for teachers, ALL new teachers are tested, from what I was told..

(How many times and for how long, I'm not sure)

Why should people just automatically be tested in ANY profession... If someone shows behaviors that are suspicious, or giving any cause SHOULD be tested....but as far as the PILL thing goes, how long can these be picked up in tests?

Get Delegate Linda Sumners to comment .. then you will see what a wolf in sheeps clothing she really is. She is a leader in that Union.. along with taking her political campaign funds from the WV Bankers Association and the WV Car Dealers Association.
I say DRUG TEST TEACHERS.. RANDOMLY and FREQUENTLY.
THE GOOD ONES HAVE NOTHING TO HIDE AND WILL HAVE NO PROBLEM WITH COMPLIANCE

You have to have "probably cause" in any type of investigation do you not?...Why single out ONE group...Let's test EVERYONE who has a job, randomly and frequently..Ditto. Anyone on Public Assistance or in any way on the government dole.

I see NO benefit in any profession to have it's members being basically treated like criminals, just for the "H" of it..

I would back that 100% IF all parents we're required to get tested, "randomly and frequently"
I wonder which group would have lower failure test if we tested BOTH groups.:)

If private industry can test employees, why should government employees be exempt.

Putnam County has had great success with their drug testing program for students. Of course by law they can only test students who drive to school or participate in extra- cirrucular activities.

Sweet post.
I'm not real ok with random testing. I feel It's an invasion of privacy.
I'm even less ok with punishing them for failing.
If they fail they should able to get help. This is a health issue.

Its not enough. We need to start drug testing everyone, from ages one to one hundred, every day for the rest of our lives.

Failure will result in immediate execution.
Failure to comply will result in immediate execution.

Even if the drugs detected are non narcotic. Muscle relaxers? Electric chair. Chemo? Dumped in toxic waste pool. Diabetic? Shouldnt have been so much of a sugarpussy. Dumped in a vat of cane sugar in the raw.

We have got to put a stop to these evils and set an example for the world we want to live in.

I agree... Test everyone... I really think those who get a check because of my legitimate job ought to get tested. I have to get tested to get my job. I am fine with getting drug tested, but at the rate counties are cutting education budgets because people don't want to pay an extra $2 a year so kids can have free textbooks, teachers can have dental and vision, and students can get free lunch... I don't foresee anyone
forking up the money to pay for drug tests, although I'm sure there are a few who wouldn't pass. It would definitely cut down on disciplinary issues with student drug incidents, but then again, where would they go? The state requires counseling before they do anything other than fine them, unless they are 18.

We need to start somewhere at fixing this mess our area is in with the drug problem. I say it's a great idea and they need to start testing welfare recipients also. If you have nothing to hide then it doesn't bother you. Its sad it has come to this but if harsh measures is what it takes then go for it
