I have a referral from my family doctor to go to a Pain Clinic of my choice. I have a lot of chronic pain due to a lot of health issue and I'm young. I want to be able to enjoy life like I used to and be active with my children which the pain, fatigue, and depression has been holding me back from doing. I have never been on strong pain meds and am kinda of concerned however at the same time kinda excited to maybe be able to regain life again. My question is, since I'm new to this where is the best treatment facility? I appreciate all positive responses in advance.

if you have never been on strong pain medication then it would make sense for you to start out with something very low dosage that your primary physician should be able to prescribe. If you go to a pain clinic and start out on a very high dosage you will be in a very bad place in a few years when your body is immune and you have no higher dosage to go to. I am NOT judging I am trying to give helpful advice so you are not like my mother taking almost 1600 mg of narcotics, still in pain and not able to enjoy life because of it. I would suggest starting with 5 mg of medicine with the dr over the hill beside thr armory

Try physical therapy first. If you are legit, and want to be "fixed". Meds defintiely aren't the solution.

I am in PT and it hurts a lot without pain medications. I was suppose to start a pain clinic before starting physical therapy but I've been putting it off. Also, my family doctor is the one you are referring to by the Armory *Rahim* I've been on Hydrocodone 10mg but nothing higher is what I mean by strong pain medications. The Hydrocodone does not help is why I am being referred out to a pain managaement facility. I do not want to become a drug addict, and not everyone does if they don't abuse their medications and take like advised. It would just be nice to be pain free for once in 10 years. I also know medications are not the only thing you have to do to help stay pain free, being active, PT, and OT, eating right, and taking your medications as soon as you feel the pain come on will all help live a better life.

If I were you, I would see Dr.Rodregiez across from CVS Pharmacy on Harper Road, he is a good dr and really seems to care about his patients. The dr beside of the Armory is the kind that will run in long enough to write a prescription then back out again and does not care what is wrong with you, he's only in it for the money. His staff are hateful, rude, smartasses, and lack of manners. You may have an appt for let's say a Wed at 3:00, they will call you and want you to come in earlier and if you can't make it they will say oh well, and you are left alone. You will go a week or so without your meds while waiting for another apointment and then he will jump onto you for not showing up for your first appt, when it wasn't even your fault to begin with, it's his because he wanted to take off early that day to play golf or whatever. He is constantly doing this to his patients, changing their apt times on their scheduled day. If you can't make it into his office earlier for the same day, then your just shit out of luck. This happens alot with his patients and Im sure that if you do decide to go to him, you will regret it!!
