I feel they should go ahead and do it. Under the law they can and the County commission has to approve it. Those folks need good police protection to keep the children safe.

Yes friend you are correct. It must be done for the children. Besides Mabscott should be aloud to do what it want's. Wayne Houck a good man and would rule with an even hand. He loves his children.
No thanks

We have raised our children here in Mabscott ,and now with our grandchildren. We trust Wayne as our Mayor . He as well as the police officers do look out for the best of our children. He has a grandaughter, and he love her as we all love our children, and grandchildren. So unless you have something nice to say it is better not said . Thank you

Why not? These people have had way too much freedom over the years. It's time they be subdued. And yes if you do it for the children they will do as they are told. So support this, you have no choice. After all it's for the children, you do like children don't you?

You are a smartass. I believe Masbcott should be able to take over south western Raleigh county. These people need protection from criminals and this is the group that can give that level of protection. With Mabscott in control there is no doubt that criminal activity would drop to nothing. They could hire 100 policemen and have a blanket of protection that would rival Beckley. If you care about kids then the answer is clear. All rural areas should be brought under control. These folks just don't know what is good for them.

People that live in rural areas should be forced to obey the law just like everyone else. With Mabscott in control they will obey.

I can tell in your tone you are not with the program. Why resist? You can't do anything about it.

Why not let Mabscott also annex Raleigh? Now that is a problem area is it not? Why should Wayne or the officers take care and look out for the children? Is that not the parents jobs? Just wondering."With Mabscott they will obey" is this big brother talking? Im glad I dont live in Mabscott. Atleast in Sophia we have a curfew for the kids.

Way too much Freedom?!? So we have to take it away? I can't believe what I'm hearing on here. That speaks volumes about the attitude of Mabscott! Its the same type of excuse as the Soviet Union claiming it was "invited" into Afghanistan in 79. Mabscott already tried to illegally occupy Crab Orchard, and despite overwhelming opposition to the idea, they tried to impose there will, and "annex," i.e. "occupy" Crab Orchard anyway. I suppose Crab Orchard had to much "Freedom" too?!? They needed to be "subdued also"?!?
Thats communist thinking, but this is the United States of America. I know the law as currently written is unconstitutional, but if the people of Dry Hill road want to be annexed by Mabscott, they should get a petition signed by at least %50 of the residents, and then "everyone" affected should have an opportunity to vote. Then and ONLY Then should Mabscott be allowed to annex anyone.

Life in Mabscott isn't that bad. Everything is taken care. It's not what you may think. i believe that you are missing a great oppertunity if you don't join. We have a lot to offer and communisn is not our way. That's radicle talk. But the law being written the way it is means we might be neighbors sooner than you think. Don't let these radicles stir you up they will be dealt with.

So I'm to assume that you have less freedom in Mabscott and the people have been subdued?

" i believe that you are missing a great oppertunity if you don't join."

And what is it exactly that I'm supposed to join?

Man ignore these fools, they have been brainwashed and intimidated for so long (20 years), they have forgotten what being an American is all about.

Let's look at this from a different angle...if you folks would just listen to the scanner at night such as last night for instance..Mabscott did not even have a police officer on duty...this happens quite frequently, the Sheriff's Dept. and State Police answers most of their calls for service now...so if these agencies want to have a police agency they need to have 24 hr 7 day a week service for the public...not when they need revenue by generating tickets...

Yes. A favourite game from the 80's was to wait until Thompson went to bed and then cause a ruckus over on the far side of Mabscott. Then you could sit and watch him get up, get dressed and then go out and investigate...nothing. Then we would wait until he was again asleep and do it all over again. It was also handy to be able to go by and see that the police were asleep and that you had a good 20 minutes before they'd show up and do anything.

Being under 18 was pretty fun sometimes.
