Why are you not answering Mona? I'm so sorry for being a bitch I told you it's because I'm 300 pounds and ugly and no one will talk to me in real life..I say things on here to make myself feel better. I have 7 kids who were takin away from me and I was sleeping with men for pills but I'm so grotesque now I would have to pay them. Topix is my only social life and I never leave the trailer. Please forgive me.

You should familiarize yourself with tax laws before asking such an assinine question. You have to make above a certain amount of money before claiming the eic. 600.00 doesn't even require filing.

From all indications,I have my doubts if any of us will be getting any refunds because of the way our circus leader is running this country. Hell I don't think they can print money fast enough. Funny how things work,if I print money at home I go to prison for counterfitting and the government prints the same worthless money and calls it debt. Damn how does that work? Guess it is the way you compose your words.

The earned income tax credit which has been part of our income tax structure since 1975 (who was president in 1975...oh yeah, Republican Gerald Ford)is for low income individuals and couples, primarily those who have children. When the credit exceeds the amount of taxes owed it results in a tax refund to those who qualify and claim the credit. This tax credit helps maintain an incentive to work and offsets other taxes paid such as SS and Medicare.

We have a choice between this credit or raising the minimum wage.

Maybe that's the intention but people who have 5 kids who made 15,000 dollars getting back like 10,000 is sickening. Some people it helps but the majority are abusers of the system and shouldn't be having that many kids. Then they have a live in boyfriend who works and they get HUD by claiming he Doesnt live there. Then when the money arrives they blow the money and except everyone to feel sorry for them. These are the people no one likes. And why in every list do u need to make it a republican/democrat thing. It's unneeded because both sides should be disgusted by these scum people

Suck it up. Pay your taxes. These February millionaires will be broke again before march rolls around. Then they will only have the 1st of each month to look forward to. Take pride in your job & the hard work you exert every day. Be glad that you're setting a good example for your kids. Being envious of the people living on handouts will only bring you down.

I thought your hero said that paying your fair share was the patriotic thing to do. Some people still have a built in incentive to work and take care of their families. It is called pride and don't have to be bribed to work. Like the poster previously said some get a piss ant job for a couple of months and then get back on welfare. There is always a way they manage to beat the system that was implemented to try and help. The IRS is always trying to close loop holes. Why don't they close this loop hole and specify that you must be full time employed, as per US labor department standards for full time, to get the incentive.

Do you know that to be true? I don't...and I don't think that you do either. And the reason I brought up Republican president Gerald Ford was because the poster before me had blamed the EIC on the current government. Comprehend?

I'm definely not envious, I'm tired of this country moving towards socialism. I don't work hard and not abuse the system to have my money given away to those who do almost nothing.

Yes I know for a fact people abuse the system and live like this paying almost nothing in and getting a lot back. I do my own taxes and some family members who unfortunately live like this. Ive seem it first hand. So do YOU comprehend?

I do tax returns for several family members and while one niece and her husband get a child tax credit they don't get anything else and they certainly pay income taxes. Guess what though, you should hear her husband rant about those no-good leeches that he's supporting with his hard earned money. People don't stop to think about the circumstances of other people and what they have to deal with, or to give thanks for their more fortunate situation. If people didn't make so little money they wouldn't be getting a refund. I certainly wouldn't want to live on their incomes.

Nope. And when I do draw SS and medicare that's not my choice the funds from that come out mandatory from my pay, but you know that one. The intention for the credit is good but is being exploited.

True. But a lot choose to live that way and spend every dime within the first week on beer, video games, etc. instead of their children or needed things then complain they have no money and since there are children involved sympathy prevails.
