It took us 4 hours to get to the closed methadone clinic today! How can they just close and leave us all hanging today. They want to be viewed by the public as a rehabilitation program and not a facility that's just handing out drug addicts' fixes every day; but today that was the case I guess. There were plenty of people who risked their lives this morning coming from all surrounding areas to get there before 11AM (which is the time we were all called yesterday by the facility that the hours had been altered due to the unknown state of the weather), only to find that eventhough they showed up and made it through 2 feet of snow so they wouldn't have to live their lives going through withdrawls symptoms all day. I feel like they left us high and dry and I know alot of people who relapsed TODAY to avoid the withdrawl symptoms. In my opinion, today, even those of us who want to change and want sobriety one day and want to stick to the program they've labeled as "therapy" and "rehabilitation", were left little choice. They could of at least tried to call thier patients and tell them they were going to be closed. Now the largest population of people that come up there cannot afford to pay to have their cars pulled out of the ditches they wound up in trying to turn around and try to make it back home. By the way, dose anyone know about tomorrow (Sunday)? Are they going to be open and if so what time?

Here's an idea. Learn to fix your problem. Find some self motivation and become a productive member of society with morals and standards instead of some worthless piece of crap druggie that has to rely on the methadone clinic. By the way it pisses me off that my tax dollars go toward a place that simply gives you a fix. Its not therapy or rehab.Get some Morals and Standards because myself and the rest of society is sick of the scum. Remember folks!!! Work hard, drug addicts depend on you!!

Obviously if the clinic can close...then you really don't NEED that fix...think about it..if you had to have it to taper off...then the clinic wouldn't be able to just not give it to ya.. So, since you went a day without your fix...why not try for tomorrow...then the next...then the next!!!
You might just realize you dont NEED IT!!!

FYI to everyone - methadone doesn't get you "high" it simply occupies the same receptors that the patients body is used to having filled with opiates. It does not produce euphoria it simply avoids withdrawal symptoms. It allows an addict to be a productive member of society. This is because of its long half life. So instead of spending all their time looking for their next fix, they can actually go out and get a job and take care of their families. Nobody looks down upon a smoker for wearing a nicotine patch or chewing gum - this is the same principal. No people don't die from opiate withdrawal, no Methadone isn't "necessary." I imagine it probably feels like they are dying just the same though. I guess it's easy for you people to judge though if you've never been there. Angie keep ya head up.

She stated, "How can they just close and leave us all hanging today?", "There were plenty of people who risked their lives this morning coming from all surrounding areas to get there before 11AM", "I feel like they left us high and dry and I know alot of people who relapsed TODAY to avoid the withdrawl symptoms". How can they close today!?! There's like 12 inches outside and the roads are covered. I had to rent a motel and walk 2 miles in the snow and get my vehicle out and people are stranded in shelters and she's mad about her methadone?!?! Methadone clinics are only a way for someone to avoid withdrawl and not ever learn to actually get off the drug. I've never done it but I have been through my fair share of problems and I found the will power to make it through and not just sustain it. Oh and I'm pretty sure someone isn't going to go out and wait in traffic and go through 12 inchs of snow and risk there're life for gum or a patch.

Poor Angie, If you werent getting your fix at the legal drug dealer then you would "RISK YOUR LIFE" getting dope on the streets. I know, been there done that. Get off the meth and quit using totally.
If you think you are clean and sober on methadone your wrong. Quit using and come to a NA meeting its the only thing that has kept me clean. Hell come to a meeting on the methadone we wont turn you away. You might hear something that you will relate to. You need to feel the withdrawl symptons so you wont forget it. I DID!! Methadone is addictive and you withdrawl from it too. All the Dr. is doing is getting rich pedaling dope. Think about it. You need to get to the root of the addiction methadone is treating the system not the problem.

I too work in the medical feild and also know family members who run to the clinic to get their fix while their kids do without basic necessities..and no they are not trying to better their lives cause they run to that clinic with their last dollar to get their fix...and yes meth is just as addictive...its the employees who try and say its not so...so the addicts keep coming back...but if you dont have your money for your fix...they sure wont give it to you anyway..so what should that tell all the addicts..if you had to have it the clinic would have to give it to you or they would be liable...just think about it...its a money racket...stop using get clean and Seek Jesus!!!

I have pulled several people after leaving the meth clinic under the influence. I worked a hit and run on Airport Rd. where a guy from Beaver driving a large truck crossed the center line and struck a woman head after just leaving the clinic. But he has gotten much needed and deserved help with his drug problem since he was sentenced to 4 years at Mt. Olive

Judging someones soul destination is one thing, but we all make judgement calls every second of the day. It's not the same thing. We as a society live under judgements everyday. People are just sick of the whole pill-head situation. Enough is enough. Methadone is just another drug given by the same institution that gives out oxycontin like candy. There is only one way to stay off drugs. Don't do them. Period. Noone is ever going to do anything to stop doctors.(legalized drug dealers). You have to have enough sense to do the right thing to begin with. Excuses don't cut it or change that reality.

Hipocrits, hipocrits, haters, and judgers: I am a very successful single mother of two sons that both make straight A's in school, and I'm a full time college student studying social services management, with a 4.0 average. I'm so glad God died for my sins, so I only have to answer to him and not those who have nothing to do but sit on the computer and act like your shit doesn't stink. I hope your never in a severe car crash and have to take pain medication just to stand up!

Your a low-life meth-head and society is sick of pieces of s**t like you. Not to mention the fact that you bring up God. Make sure your meth is locked up so your kids don't get it....creep.
