1- It is a prison EVERYONE is under surveillance, everyone is to be considerd a bully. Some posters are giving incorrect information. Jerry Ball is NOT considered a "model inmate". He is considered a bully and is constantly under surveillance. He has had several disciplinary actions.
He bullies other inmates as he knows he has little to lose. What else are they going to do, give him another life sentence? He is there rotting away at taxpayers expense.
People can concoct excuses for his actions all day and all night. Hogwash. He had alternatives. Did you ever think that might be the very reason why he was found guilty? This was not self defense, folks. Enough of the "poor little kid was abused" crap. He killed 4 family members, including 2 younger brothers. An insanity defense wasn't successful. Wonder why? Because he wasn't insane.
For what he did, he deserves the electric chair.
2- Your point of rotting away has no bearing on this topic. Any7one arrested falls under that category technically.
3- Noone has EXCUSED anything. You however told posters to check out the DOC website, to view his photo, and you CLAIMED the ball kid had went to pot with hygeine, facial hair, etc... when we went there, I saw a Jerry Ball clean shaven and by the view of his neck, he was overweight, but not as you described.
4- As a employee of the Regional Jail system now going on 14 years, I know far more about Northern and their inmate population than you do. So when I can contact my fellow administrators and Director of Inmate services, they know more than your petty little remarks. Jerry is an INMATE, and several years ago there was a full page artical on Jerry as being a "Model" inmate and a cook... which was all true back then.
Jerrys parents did contribute to his incident, but Jerry is responsible for his actions. Noone has said otherwise.
ANY inmate who commits murder has the option to use insanity. It is a common practice. However if you did your homework on it, you would find out that the insanity plea rarely works. He had a right for his defense team to offer up any explination they wanted. That is how the system works. He does deserve the death penalty. Noone has said he didnt.
He did a terrible thing, and he is in prison for life. The prison system isnt a cakewalk, so trying to throw compassion in the mix of prison is not justified. Jerry needed rep in the prison system, and his disciplinary actions give him that. That is how the game is played.
