Rick Perry Uses Failed Lehmberg Coup To Slingshot Himself Toward White House

Rick Perry is not guilty…at least in his own befuddled mind. And the worse it gets, the more he seems to thrive. The court has indicted the guy for trying to coerce Travis County DA Rosemary Lehmberg out of office. And he has the cojones to defend his actions against her. After all, she did drink herself silly.

But Perry has a double standard when it comes to drunk driving officials. One for Democrats and one for Republicans.

Granted Lehmberg was driving. And she was drunk. And she was arrested. Then she acted badly, pounding on the door and yelling out as you can see in this local KTNV, ABC affiliate video.

When Lehmberg was arrested her blood level for alcohol was three times the legal limit. Not only was she being ugly to the police, they had to restrain her. But she admitted she was guilty, and the judge gave her 45 jail days. She followed the law to its inevitable end, serving time. But Perry wasn’t happy.

It looks as if the good old boy saw her DWI as the perfect chance to eject her and end her investigation into his pet project the “Cancer Research Fund.” But as the video showed, Ms. Lehmberg is a strong-willed woman. She was not going anywhere. Perry be damned.

So the Governor just line-item vetoed her $7.5 budget for her Public Integrity Unit. Oh sure he could defund her legally. But a Texas Grand Jury indicted Perry two times – once for abuse of official capacity and once for coercion of a public servant – both felonies.

Perry could have just looked the other way. After all he has done that more than once. Why did he give the former State Representative Jim Stick a pass? The police caught him driving drunk. The Governor did not call for his resignation. And someone appointed the Republican to Chief Legal Counsel for the Texas Health and Human Services Commission with a nice little salary of $162,000.

And what about poor Rick Harrison? He was so drunk, that he was driving the wrong direction. Oops. The court found him guilty of drunk driving. And guess what? He held the same job as Lehmberg – District Attorney! Then there was Terry McEachern, also a D.A. He got his own DWI. But did Perry ask for them to resign? No.

Does Perry just have a bug up his pants about Democrats, or is it more complicated? Possibly. If only the Lady D.A. had not charged forward into an investigation of the Governor’s pet project, the Cancer Research Fund, a scandal that has led to a felony indictment. Oh well.

Now if Lehmberg just been a good girl and resigned when Perry asked, all would have well. Then the Governor could have appointed her replacement. I’d guess a Republican who fit nicely beneath his thumb. And then Perry could have manipulated him into just dropping that pesky Cancer Research Fund investigation.

Texas indicted its own infamous Tom DeLay, former House Majority Leader for conspiring to “break election laws.” Oh sure they acquitted him – eight years later!

So DeLay was in a position to offer Perry some good advice,

“You better take this seriously. All of the judges are Democrats. And we polled 300 jurors, and the best I got was a Green Peace activist.”

But Perry seems to thrive on political wrong turns. And who knows? Maybe his knack for going bassackward will catapult him into the 2016 presidential election.

Both Democrats and Republican agree on one thing:

This situation is a political game to achieve at the courthouse what could not be achieved at the ballot box.

The real question is: in the longterm, will the Republicans or the Democrats win?

9-Year-Old Girl Accidentally Fires Gun At Shooting Instructor, Killing Him

n Monday, a 9-year-old girl on vacation with her parents in Dolan Springs, Arizona accidentally shot her shooting instructor in the head, killing him.

Charles Vacca, the 39-year-old instructor at the Bullets and Burgers shooting range, was shot around 10 a.m. and airlifted to a Las Vegas hospital. He was later pronounced dead.

The young girl was standing near Vacca when she fired an automatic 9-mm Uzi. According to Mohave County Sheriff Jim McCabe, the girl had safely shot the weapon a few times in “single-shot” mode. When the 9-mm gun was placed in “fully-automatic” mode and the girl fired off an unknown number of bullets, the gun recoiled. The girl held onto the weapon, which made the gun lift above her head. Vacca was struck in the head by at least one of the bullets.

McCabe said:

“The guy just dropped.”(Source)

Currently, an investigation is being done on the incident. Meanwhile, the shooting range’s website still says:

“Our guests have the opportunity to fire a wide range of fully automatic machine guns and specialty weapons. At our range, you can shoot FULL auto on our machine guns. Let ‘em rip!”(Source)

Not since the Nazi Youth have adults felt the need to train 9-year olds with assault rifles. Do they think their war with Government will include child soldiers?

Republican Iowa mayor resigns after charges of raping, sexually abusing two young girls

Tuesday, August 26, 2014 13:59 EDT

An Iowa mayor submitted his resignation this week following his arrest over allegations that he sexually abused two young girls.

According to The Des Moines Register, the Oelwein City Council approved the resignation of Mayor Jason Manus (R) on Monday.

Earlier this month, Manus was arrested on five count of sexual abuse against two girls, ages 9 and 14.

Arrest documents alleged that on four occasions in 2010 Manus had taken the 14-year-old girl into a basement cellar and sexually assaulted her. The document stated that he placed his hand on the victim’s mouth, and held her against her will when she tried to yell for help.

Additionally, Manus was accused of sexually abusing the 9-year-old victim in a way that met the FBI’s definition of statutory rape.

Investigators said that some of the crimes uncovered during the investigation could not be pursued because the statute of limitations had expired. However, sexual assault victims have 10 years after their 18th birthday to report sexual abuse in Iowa.

Bond was set at $125,000, but then later reduced to $65,000. Former Oelwein Larry Murphy told The Des Moines Register that he was concerned about Manus’ release because he “lives close to a school and a city park

Manus faces up to 125 years in jail if convicted.

Why am I not surprised to learn that he’s a Republican? He probably got into office on a “family values/sanctity of life/preservation of traditional marriage/let’s all think of the children” platform. Let’s hope he gets that 125 years in prison.

An elected Republican official that's a pedophile? Must be a day ending in Y.

There once was a mayor named Manus,
Whose crime was particularly heinous,
For raping kids age 14 and 9,
He will do up to 125 years time,
But the real punishment will be to his anus.

He won't do time, he will be put under house arrest, because he will not fare well in prison. Prison is for blacks and Hispanics for possession of weed

Video shows police shot Ohio man ‘on sight’ as he leaned on toy gun in Walmart, attorney says

Tuesday, August 26, 2014 14:55 EDT

Surveillance video shows an Ohio man talking on a cell phone, leaning on a toy gun, and facing away from officers moments before police shot and killed him in a Walmart store, according to an attorney for the man’s family.

John Crawford III died Aug. 5 after police were called to Walmart in Beavercreek, near Dayton, by another shopper who reported a man carrying what appeared to be an AR-15 rifle.

The 22-year-old Crawford was instead carrying an unpackaged MK-177 (.177 caliber) BB/pellet rifle he picked up in the store’s toy department.

Police claim Crawford ignored their commands to drop the weapon, and the former Marine who called in the report and witnessed the shooting said Crawford “looked like he was going to go violently.”

But attorney Michael Wright said surveillance video from the incident, which Ohio’s attorney general allowed him to watch with Crawford’s family, contradicted those accounts.

“John was doing nothing wrong in Walmart, nothing more, nothing less than shopping,” Wright said.

The attorney said surveillance video showed Crawford facing away from officers, talking on the phone, and leaning on the pellet gun like a cane when he was “shot on sight” in a “militaristic” response by police.

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine announced Tuesday handed the case over to a special prosecutor to present to a grand jury Sept. 22.

Piepmeier, an assistant Hamilton County, Ohio, prosecutor, has handled more than 100 officer-involved shooting cases in his career.

He oversaw the grand jury investigation of Stephen Roach, who was indicted but later acquitted of a negligent homicide charge in the fatal 2001 shooting of 19-year-old Timothy Thomas that sparked race riots in Cincinnati.

DeWine said Tuesday he was glad he had allowed Crawford’s family to view the surveillance video, but he did not plan to publicly release the video to avoid tainting the jury pool.

“I thought the family had the right to view it,” DeWine said.“The mom did not want to view it; I understand it. The dad did view it,(but) to put the video out on TV is not the right thing to do.”

Wright said the family objected to the piecemeal release of evidence, such as dispatch audio and video on the day of the shooting, was biased toward the police.

“Everything released is one-sided,” Wright said.“There is nothing favorable to John Crawford. You can’t show different pieces, show it all, don’t trickle pieces to gain favor of the public.”

He said the video suggests Crawford probably did not see or hear officers as they arrived.

Crawford was speaking by cell phone to his girlfriend, who was with his parents, when he was shot.

“He said he was at the video games playing videos, and he went over there by the toy section where the toy guns were,” said LeeCee Johnson, the mother of his two children.“The next thing I know, he said,‘It’s not real,’ and the police start shooting, and they said ‘Get on the ground,’ but he was already on the ground because they had shot him.”

Johnson put the phone on speaker mode, and she and Crawford’s parents heard him die.

“I could hear him just crying and screaming,” Johnson said.“I feel like they shot him down like he was not even human.”

A 37-year-old woman at the store suffered an unspecified medical emergency after the shooting and died a short time later.

Sgt. David Darkow, one of the officers involved in the shooting, has already been allowed to resume his duties.

The other officer, Sean Williams, remains on administrative leave.

Wright called on DeWine to turn over the case to the U.S. Department of Justice.

There is not one single police officer in America that I am not afraid of and not one that I would trust to tell the truth or obey the laws they are sworn to uphold. I do not believe they protect me in any way.

The American people have allowed the badge to become a 007 license. Their very own in house investigators, usually called "Internal Affairs" or "IA", will always say that their policeman have done no wrong. They ansywer to nobody but themselves, and they laugh when you demonstrate your outrage towards them.

If you don't soil your pants the instant the officer yells, and do whatever he tells you, then it's apparently a justified shooting. They will laugh and give each other high-fives.
