BISMARCK, N.D.(AP)- State officials say a broken oil pipeline owned by an Oklahoma company in North Dakota spilled almost 34,000 gallons of crude. North Dakota Water Quality Director Dennis Fewless says the spill occurred early Thursday about 6 miles northeast of Alexander. Fewless says Enid-based Hiland Crude LLC owns the pipeline and has contained the spill.

HOUSTON (AP)- Oilfield services company Baker Hughes Incorporated says Texas shut down 10 rigs this week while Oklahoma's oil and gas drilling platform tally declined by three. West Texas Intermediate crude futures at Oklahoma's Cushing hub closed the week at $99.46 a barrel.

This Republican Bill Would Require People To Get Court Approval To Date Or Have Sex

Once again, Republicans have topped themselves. In the race for introducing legislation that restricts personal freedom the most in America, the Massachusetts GOP has reached a new low.

A GOP bill would force people to seek court approval to date and have sex.
For years, Republicans across the country have sought to police what citizens do in the privacy of their own bedrooms. Theyíve tried to outlaw anal and oral sex, even for married couples. And they certainly want to ban gay sex. But now, they want to force people to seek permission from a judge before they can engage in sexual relations.

In 2013, Massachusetts State Senator Richard Ross introduced S787 in the House. The bill forbids divorcing couples who have children from engaging in sexual activities with other people unless they get court approval first. In fact, they canít even go on dates with other people without an OK from a judge.

ďIn divorce, separation, or 209A proceedings involving children and a marital home, the party remaining in the home shall not conduct a dating or sexual relationship within the home until a divorce is final and all financial and custody issues are resolved, unless the express permission is granted by the courts.Ē

Ross claims he doesnít actually support the bill, but filed it anyway on behalf of a constituent. Even so, one would think that such a bill would be killed instantly. After all, itís not like the GOP is exactly in charge in the blue state. But on Thursday, the bill somehow received a three month extension for consideration and could move forward anytime between now and June 30th.

S787 is slippery slope that could be a model for legislation in red states in their war on women.
The bill is bad enough as it is. It legislates the private lives of consenting adults, both men and women, and forces them to ask a court if they can have sex with someone or date them. Itís a clear violation of personal liberty and privacy. But itís also a slippery slope that could give Republicans a new idea to push in their war on women.

Republicans already want to make it harder for women to obtain a divorce. And the GOP isnít a fan of women having sex outside of marriage. The right-wing has been totally obsessed with restricting the sex lives of women. And now they have a brand new tactic they can use to make womenís lives even more hellish.

In states where Republicans control all branches of government, they could easily craft a bill that bars any woman from dating or having sex with other partners during a pending divorce. And even if such bills are also applied to men to make them seem more fair, the bottom line is that sex lives would be decided on the whims of a judge. And if that judge is a sexist conservative male, he could simply give men permission to pursue other relationships and deny women from doing the same. After all, womenís sex lives are often more criticized then those of men, and are therefore most likely to be affected by such a law.

In short, this Massachusetts bill is a dangerous one that could lead to worse versions in other states. Itís a way for sexist conservatives to punish women for seeking a divorce and a way for them to legislate what women do in their bedrooms.

Itís a cruel bill that would be costly to enforce.
This type of bill is a threat to personal liberty, and a fiscal nightmare for taxpayers. Itís unclear how the provisions of the bill would be enforced and what the punishment would be. Are lawmakers going to assign a cop to follow every person who is getting a divorce to make sure the rules are followed? Are they going to approve surveillance operations? Either way, itís going to be a costly waste of taxpayer dollars. And do we really want to go down the road of fining or jailing consenting adults for having sex? It sounds like something the Puritans did before we became a nation with protected personal freedom and civil rights. Such a bill is also harsh considering many divorces take months to finalize. In Massachusetts alone, it could take up to four months. So, people who seek divorce could be banned from having sex for four months. That may be fine for a person who wants to practice celibacy, but for most human beings, itís cruel and unusual punishment.

How low can the GOP go?
Politicians nor judges have the right to tell consenting adults whether they can have sex or not. Itís an overreach of power that violates constitutional and human rights, and wastes money and resources. This bill should never have been filed in the first place, and now red states could employ it to target women and enforce their anti-sex agenda. How low can the GOP go? Apparently, they havenít even begun to scrape the bottom of the barrel.

S787= GOP all for it?
ACA= GOP Votes 50+ times to repeal it?
GOP= Keep Government out of our lives?
GOP= WE will tell you what ID you need to VOTE.
GOP= You can only date/have sex, when we say you can?
GOP= WE will tell YOU who you can/cannot marry?
GOP= WE will tell Women what/when they need healthcare,
and YOU cannot plan your family?
These are only a few reasons why Democrats MUST
VOTE in November.
If you stay home, you cast a VOTE for the GOP.
Do you REALLY wanna do that?

It would be interesting to see if the fracking wells in the area of these earth quakes produce more or less after the quakes happen.

I'll bet you can't get that info from the Oil and Gas Industry or the Corporation Commission.

Did you know Fallin was fracked by a Highway Patrolman when she was the Lieutenant Governor? I wonder if she had a quake?

Someone that runs against her in the next governor's race should bring that up. I'll bet there would be a BIG quake then.

LANGSTON, Oklahoma - The U.S. Geological Survey has recorded 15 earthquakes in Oklahoma since about 9:30 p.m. Friday, the largest being a magnitude 4.0.
The 4.0 magnitude quake was recorded at 10:05 p.m. Friday about seven miles south of Langston. Three other quakes of magnitude 2.9, 3.0 and 3.3 were recorded Saturday afternoon in the Medford area.

The other quakes ranged from magnitude 2.4 to 2.9.

No injuries or damage are reported.

Geologists say earthquakes of magnitude 2.5 to 3.0 are generally the smallest felt by humans.

Scientists are studying why earthquake activity has increased in Oklahoma and whether it is connected to wastewater disposal related to oil and gas production -- but have found no answers.

The energy industry denies that the method is to blame for the increased seismic activity.

Want an answer? Place a moratorium on fracking for 3 months and watch the earthquakes subside.

The geologists are uncertain the quakes are related to fracking and the frackers are certain the quakes are unrelated to fracking. Sounds legit.

Police work to clean up Tulsa motels

TULSA, Okla.- FOX23 told you in November about the Tulsa Police Department working to clean up motels in east Tulsa. Now we have a look at the process at work.

TPD patrols Officers Larry Crawford and Jason Hamm said the work continues even whenever they arenít on a call. Jason Hamm said the work continues even whenever they arenít on a call.

ďWe receive information, weíll run plates,Ē Crawford said.

They said they find not only drugs, prostitution and fraud, but also violent crimes.

ď[Theyíre] hiding out for the night or shacked up in one of these hotels for the night,Ē Crawford said.

FOX23 was there when officers went to Tulsa Inn and Suites to follow up on a tip police received.

ďWe can see you, man. Open the door,Ē Hamm said after knocking on one of the hotel room doors.

Inside they said they found a convicted felon with a loaded pistol and evidence that the man could have been selling cocaine.

Crawford told FOX23 that it isnít an unusual find.

ďSome people will answer the door and have their drugs out on the table,Ē Crawford said.

Crawford said that many of the people staying in the motels are Tulsans.

ďA lot of times they are coming to these motels to do their dirty work because they donít want to do it in their own backyard,Ē Crawford said.

The officers said that they will continue to send the message that taking crime out of one neighborhood and bringing it to others is not OK.

That was Roger Snodgrass. He is the reason the "Fleeing Felon" law was overturned, as he had killed two other suspects prior -- one shot in the back climbing a fence, and the other was beaten to death while sitting on his toilet. Charming people they have, but if the wont resign the union insists they cant be fired.
