I think it is not right that the child is able to have his holidays and celebrate them with his family and Eric is not here to celebrate the holidays with us.

To "that Kid" I love how you sond so sorry for the "accident" that you were involved in. I will never see my cousin again, I will never hug him, I will never see him smile. Why do you not sound sorry, are u sorry? Do you realize the pain this has caused?

Give the kid a break, noone here knows exactly what happened. What is the kid suppose to say to make you guys feel happy? My sincere condolences to the family of the lost kid. why are we putting fault on someone, maybe the kid on the motorcycle was going to fast.

It's unfortunate that we live in an age where mud slinging and blaming others is normal behavior. It's unfortunate that when our children go out with their friends, they often go to parties where they engage in underage drinking. They might not always get caught, and I know of a few parents who are quick to say "not my kid" when yes, their kids are out drinking and even driving. I wonder if the kid who was behind the wheel was the captain of the basketball team, would he be crucified like this particular kid? Not the most popular kid in town, but a good kid nonetheless. A kid who had a few beers and out of a total lack of judgement, got behind the wheel of a vehicle and took another young life. He didn't set out to intentionally hurt anyone.. he was on his way home after having a few beers. Many kids have done it and many adults have done it as well. It's sad that in this area, there isn't much more for a young person to do than go out and have a few beers on the weekends...hell the adults seem to think that's the best form of entertainment and it saddens me to think that this kid has the rest of his life to live with the guilt that he took another mans life. I think that's punishment enough. Alcohol ruins lives.. plain and simple.

He Chose to drive after drinking and that choice killed someone.

Are you Kidding me. Yeah maybe guilt is enough. Does he even have any though? I was at the first trial, and I saw him. He sat there like he was bored out of his mind. He keeps saying it wasnt his fault. There is a damn tape to prove it. Eric was a good guy and now his babys will never ever see their dad. He will miss their first step, or their first day of school. instead he is looking down on them from heaven beacuse an intoxicated teen ran a stop sign. Let him live with that.
