Silly fun for who? In the age of sensetivity where did this teacher come from? Sometimes things are so patently stupid it's hard to even imagine this clod- repremand him and let the kid go to a different class.Anyone this clueless is sure to be retaliatory.

Being the mother of 2 teenagers, I am OUTRAGED at the unprofessional and insensitive manner which this teacher used in his classroom. I have a child who took an ethics class; and the teacher would meet with a student beforehand if he wanted to teach a lesson that would involve some "singling out". You can certainly learn without being humilated and harassed! I hope that the administration at this school punishes the teacher and not the student.

This teacher should be fired, there is no place for this kind of hazing in todays world with the number of people going crazy and shooting people. Not only that but it is totaly nothing more than being abused by a authority figure.

Im glad everyone got there comments in but now its my turn since i am in that exact class and was present during this "Incident". First of all the class is called Ethnic Relations. it is the study of Religions, culture, and most of all actions between people of different ethnic backgrounds. if Josh felt humiliated then good for him because that is what the class is about. Near the end of the year we have a project that we do for a long period of time. we have to wear the star of david with a big E in the middle of it and no matter what we are told we have to do it. for example, if we are told to sit in the middle of the class then you better do it or you lose points. This is to represent the jews during the holocaust. everyone in the class is aware of this project and probably 50 percent of them took the class wanting to do the project. so before anyone makes any more comments think about what the class is about not what happened and the opinion of 1 student.

That's fine that your in the class learning ethnics.I really don't understand what NFL fans have to do with class. I guess maybe all those soccer team fans need to take your class so they won't be so violent to each other.I believe if the tables were turned around, and the student dissed on the teacher. He would be suspeneded I'm sure. I feel the teacher screwed up real bad on this one. I guess maybe now the tables are turned. Enjoy your lesson teacher.

Mr Kelly is a disgrace to the teaching profession, his community, and the Beaver Falls School District.

I don't care what his reasons were for subjecting a student to this type of humiliation, it is uncalled for and out of line,(apparantly) with the district's mission statement. He should be fired.

If your not Jewish and you're made to sit in the middle of the room and take abuse as if you were - then that could be a learning experience and I see the point. If the teacher instructed a student who was Steeler fan to wear a Broncos jersey and take abuse that makes more sense. This teacher either doesn't have a clue or is a diehard Steelers fan who abused his authority to humiliate a Bronco fan. Either way, he should be reprimanded or suspended. I don't believe terminating this man's livelyhood and ruining his teaching career is a punishment that fits the crime.

After reading the above comments, Mr. Kelly made a really poor decision by doing what he did to Joshua. As a former teacher, he crossed the line. Mr. Kelly teaches a ethnicity class, therefore explore and have the students enjoy various activities, role playing, projects, etc, but do not make a student sit on the floor while taking a midterm exam because he is wearing a Broncos Jersey. Then to make matters worse, make the other students throw crumpled up paper at him and call him a "stinking Denver Fan". I think what Mr. Kelly needs is to have his annual evaluation done by either the principal or superintendent, have him sit on the floor and have the same treatment done to him while trying to answer questions from his superiors which in turn would enable him to continue to teach at the school and perhaps receive some type of raise given annually to teachers. If a student would do this to a teacher, I believe some type of discipline would be handed down. So take a few days off Mr. Kelly on behalf of the administration to really think about what you did. If that doesn't work, then as Donald Trump would say, "Your fired!"

This "teacher" should have his credential revoked. Bullying a student? Never! The student should hire a good lawyer and sue the district. I hope he does, he has a great case!

This guy crossed the line. I 1st thought it was just a case of the media making a big deal about nothing. Now, after understanding what really took place, I'm outraged. Mr. Kelly should be suspended. He should also be glad Joshua wasn't MY son!

I THINK JOSHUA SHOULD GET A LAWER AND HANG THIS TEACHER AND SHOW HIM WHAT HUMILIATION IS REALLY ABOUT. AS FAR AS THE CLASS-MATES WHO ACTUALLY THREW PAPER AT HIM SHOULD BE IN TROUBLE ALSO. WHY THIS TEACHER THOUGHT IT WAS A JOKE WAS THINKING VERY STUPID. I WISH I KNEW HIM BECAUSE, I WOULD HUMILIATE THE CRAP OUT OF HIM AND ALL THE STUDENTS INVOLVED. GOOD LUCK JOSHUA

This teacher acted in a disgraceful manner!!! The only thing more disgraceful will a failure of the school board, and the citizens in severely disciplining this obviously unqualified teacher. The sad part is that this teacher may have an ingrained hatred that more education would not correct, he simply may not be educator material.

Wow! Beaver Falls really needs to TEACH our students skills they will use in life to further their education or function as responsible people with a basis of being able to read and write. Beaver Falls needs to spend more time teaching Math, Science, Literature - just read this JUNIOR Beaver Falls High Students comments below - no sentance structure, inproper spelling and grammer. Good job Beaver falls - your literally wasting valuable teaching time on ridiculous PC mumbo jumbo. Ethics and Values are extremely important subjects to be taught, but at what cost to students? I hope the School Board does the right thing and fires this Mr Kelly character ASAP - there is no room for humilating anyone in front of his peers - very poor class "instruction" - where is the teachers PREPARATION for this class? It is a disgrace - as a Tax Payer (and a Steeler fan)- I am appalled and demand the dismissal of the teacher AND the Principal who is defending such primitive behavior. Get back to teaching useful skills!.

Justin I can appreciate that a class in ethnic relations is going to rattle a few cages now and then-but unless students are aware at the beginning of term that they might be singled out for ridicule at any given moment, including an important test on which a portion of their grade depends, Mr. Kelly was being pretty unfair. In fact it might be good policy in the future to award extra credit to a student who is used as such an example.

Hey Justin -
You should spend more time studying and less time on the internet! The guys right - your making all of our students look bad.
It is Lying NOT lieing moron.
You start sentances with capital, names and places are capitalized.
Sentances should have a noun. adjective, preposition - you have none of that.
Stop whil you have some dignity left - the guys post is dead on - and I am a student!

You are absolutely correct. Obviously the girls are smarter, or more sensitive, than some of their male classmates.
