Maybe it isn't the company...but maybe, just maybe, you're an idiot!? Seems like you don't have much sense from your postings. Think they might have picked up on that!?

Maybe its not the company but the ppl applying! My husband works there and he def is a good man, he doesnt drink or do drugs! The ones complaining should take it up with the fiscal court! They didnt give Armstrong a tax break from my understanding, like they did Purdue. I'm sure they only hire experienced miners and not just anyone applying for a job! But, good luck!

To the person who started this post....
Coaling Mining isn't for those who just want a job. Coal Mining is hard-work and dedication, their not just gonna hire someone from off the street. Right now they are hiring experienced workers and trying to start a GREAT company that in turn will bring many amazing jobs to the WESTERN KENTUCKY AREA, not just Ohio County. They have safety regulations to abide by, and even more now than before they have to prove they have a safe work environment. My uncle was a Minor and the mines collapsed on him years ago, he wasn't able to work for the rest of his life after that.
My father worked in the mines, my grandfather and my other uncle as well. Mining's not a waste.
"Coal Keeps the lights on", "University of Kentucky Coal Cats", "Owensboro Community College prepares miners for jobs", "Got Electricity? Thank a Miner." Coal Mining is getting support from all over, show support for them too, not just hate because you can't get a job there. Think about the people its helped.

Ive been trying since Dec 2007 ,ive spent way too much time and money keeping up my training for nothing. i say piss on armstrong, i done everthing from drive truck ,work on equipment and serve my country. i when for an interview back in may . and never heard crap from them. thats ok though i found a better job that will last longer than the 7-10 more years ,that armstrong will last. At the rate the digging and as many draglines, shovels that they have ,i give them 10 years at the most ,then all those coal miners will be looking for a job to pay for all the cars ,trucks and house" they bought. If they were UNION it wouldnt be bad. And the one guy is right,if you dont know someone or your from methinberg, hopkins, and christian countys you dont have much of a chance. And armstrongf had the nerve to ask for a tax break. what a bunch of crooks.Im happy where im at UNION all the way .

i don't know any of your work history nor do i care, but quit bitching about Armstrong! you think they wanna hire a bunch of whiners? no they are wanting to hire miners! I work at a job making 8.45 an hr and im not bitching... and FYI burn your candles and ride your horse, and when your balls are froze to your leg, then you can have something to whine about..
