They did file bankruptcy, they didn't file it on the lake room though. They lost their car, but they're still open for business. It's a very beautiful place for a wedding or reception! Highly recommend them, Ralph and April Porter are very nice and helpful!

For any decent size wedding, the venue is very small. Unless you are having a small, family, private type wedding, you are going to be extremely cramped for space. It's beautiful, just small. It's small for a baby shower. I can't imagine having a wedding or reception there.

I had a little over 150 at my wedding...it was outside. But almost all the guest attended the reception inside and it wasn't cramped to bad at all! They are really nice and the cheapest place around! A church we were going tiger married at costed way more! And the preacher is family of mine. I would call the lake room if I was you and get your own opinion.

Yes for sure go look at it and get your own opinion. My daughter attended an outdoor wedding there and said the reception was so crowded it was ridiculous. But none the less, beautiful.

I agree with 'my opinon' it is very small, it is attached to the house that the family of 7 lives in. To make room for everyone they cram the tables in and ther is no room to move around between them. If looking for a bigger and less expensive place I would consider the senior center, or one of the churches halls.

I attended a reception there yesterday, it was way too small and cramped. The place was not equiped to handle people and the grass needed mowing What a shame for the wedding party.

I had read these posts previous/it is too small and the brides family said too expensive. Aren't there church halls that are cheaper or even free?

Check some of the town halls or community centers.. They rent them out, usually pretty cheap
