Throughout 2008, this publication has analyzed and editorialized on the challenges brought to Saline County by illegal immigration.

The costs are exorbitant, and for all those who claim they get no welfare benefits, we're finding out that's false in a lot of cases. We shouldn't be required to spend any money on them, including education. It's not fair to the rest of us.

Saline County is a very small county as to population. our Governor attempted to stem the flow of illegals, however, it was fought tooth and nail. Thankfully we passed term limits and several Senators who fought against the citizens of Nebraska will be gone very soon. The new Senators, unless they lied, will work with the governor realizing the taxpayers are taking it in the "shorts."
