THINK: Should Lumberton allow beer to be sold?
What about the ongoing debate over beer sales in Lumberton, a "dry" city? Last week a Lumberton convenience store was denied a request to renew a license that allowed it to sell beer.

Lumberton is losing revenue due to the loss of alcohol sales within the city limits. I believe anyone who wants to buy alcohol is going to. It is stupid to give revenue to a store located less than 1 mile from the city limits of our city, obviously the people against alcohol sales are not business minded, or realistic about human behavior. I do not believe alcohol will bring criminals or criminal activity to our city, I do not believe it will bring any type effect of change, except possibly new restaurants, movie theatres and franchise business. We need these type business for our children, grandchildren and all age groups to stay in our hometown for shopping and entertainment. Wake up Lumberton !!!! Vote to allow new venues, allow new growth, allow shops and restaurants to come to our town!!!

I've lived in "dry counties". Doesn't do any good. Someone else is getting the money.
