Consumers say spending $800 tax rebate check easy

NEW YORK: Is an extra $800 in your pocket enough to change the course of the ailing economy? President Bush, Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson and members of Congress seem to think so.

Bush turned a healthy economy Clinton left him into the largest debt ever. Over 9 trillion dollars,and it grows 1.43 billion dollars every day!!! What were the Evangelicals thinking to be the basis of his support,of course Bush promised them a billion $. This country will pay for decades having a madman in the Whitehouse!!!

$800 is really going to save my life(sarcasm) thats pocket change to folks like bush and his croonies. why don't they start living meagerly, get rid of a car or mansion or servant or 2,,share some of their wealth. wonder when the last time Laura even gave thought to how she was going to pay the gas bill and put gas in the car. no she probably is planning a million dollar wedding for her brat, who has no idea what it is like to sacrifice or go without.

The money is nice,but it will not fix the economy. The trillions that have been spent on this war has caused most of the trouble. We do not need to know how much she is going to spend on that wedding. So many people are loosing their jobs, and the media wants us to care about this wedding. So many of us have no health care, and we are paying through the roof to keep our houses warm. The only help will be to get rid of the republicans from the White House, and get someone in who cares about people. 800 would be nice, but if the war doesn't end, things will stay the same

Hmm....$800 for singles,$1600 for married couples. Many options that could be a jump start to a better life:
Take a course on-line, get a better job.
OR: Start a small business; a lot of advertising can be bought with that kind of money.
Or:Take up a quit smoking program.
Or: Pay down higher interest credit cards.
Or: Get your car fixed to get better gas mileage.
Or: Put it towards insulating your house to use less energy to heat.
C'mon stop whinning and start thinking!!

Bush A$$'s wealthy tax cut killed the economy when he went to war in Iraq, and the budget surplus turned into the biggest deficit in USA history. The $800 does not come for free. It will add $145 billion to the deficit, and our kids will be paying for it forever.

Let's get our facts straight. Bill Clinton left us with a budget surplus. If not for the Iraq war, the economy would still be strong and UHC would be an affordable reality. The new Dem president will have to fix all the Bush A$$ economy issues, and yes that will be painful with spending cuts, and increased taxes on the wealthy who can best afford to pay more.

We had a surplus when Clinton was in office, that which was immediately p*ssed away on useless cr@p once BUSH took office. BTW, where is Osama? Isn't that the REAL reason we went to war?
