If someone goes to social workers and has a complaint of abuse from years ago what will happen? Will they help the victim or just not listen??

The social workers can't do anything because the situation is not ongoing and does not involve a minor child.

You need to speak with law enforcement or a prosecutor.

Sounds like the incidence happened too long ago to be able to do anything about it now. Hope I'm wrong. Good luck to you.

And if the victim was a minor when the abuse occurred but is an adult now is it a case for social workers or for police?

Go to the state police, they investigate all cases. If there is enough evidence to go to trial, the district attorneys office will prosecute.(Heather Combs office in Irvine assuming it happened in Lee Co) There is no statute of limitations in KY but you will need evidence or witnesses to make a conviction. God bless you, hope this helps!

Actually you need to do you own homwork and and look here first providing you can understand all of this legal mumbo jumbo>>> its hard getting around all of them legal words but give it a try >> go here and then look here after you look over that you'll have to look up all of the provisions in that specific chapter, to make sure what you are fixin to make a case for might even apply to you. And you might also want to take a look here too>>> and you should also take a look here>>> after you are done there take a long hard look here .. some cold hard facts>>Like every state in the country, Kentucky too has a specific civil statute of limitations pertaining to child sexual abuse. It is capped at 5 years after the victim has legally become an adult, which occurs at age 18. The discovery rule is limited and specific. Discovery stands for knowledge of the act and the statute provides for 5 years for child sexual abuse and assault. As far as the criminal statute of limitations goes, there is no time period for reporting and registering a civil lawsuit for a felony whereas other sexual misdemeanors against minors have a 5 year statute of limitations.

what about a child from the age 5 to present, the mother knew all along, and the granny knew as well,it was reported to social services but they turned their heads because the sicko grandfather has connections with Tom Hollan...we all know child services are connected to his office...keep voting him in

Tom Hollon is the county attorney. He prosecutes misdemeanors in district court.

Child sexual abuse is a felony. It's prosecuted by Heather Combs in circuit court. Tom Hollon has nothing to do with it.

Social services cannot prosecute and they can't act on undocumented claims. You need to go to the police or the commonwealth's attorney (Mrs. Combs).
