I've heard that LCHS doesn't have a band anymore. If that's true, what happened?

Why don't we all beat the dead horse again? This has been cussed and discussed repeatedly. We're sick of hearing it.
If you want a good band, go in and make sure the kids who are in class attend all the afterschool sessions, follow the kids home and make sure they practice, go to the games and the competitions and support them.
DON'T get on here and talk about them!

I, for one, support the band. Let me know when I can buy some fruit. Joseph is more of an athlete, but I know Connie would be crushed without the opportunity to play in the band.

Should we try to get up a petition to get Mr. Barrett back? We need the Pride of the Mountains.

look at the new director. like it will even be half as good as before. just look at her track record she never even qualified for quarterfinals back when she was the band director in the 90's. and from what i have heard from some students still in class, they hate her and they really hate band class now and miss tony.

This is the time we should all stand and work together to support our children. The band will be back. Michelle is wonderful and all the kids like her. Please see a band member, it is time to buy the best oranges in the world! Good Luck to the Pride of the Mountains. The band kids are the best!

you obviousy do not talk to any of the band kids. i have and i haven't heard a nice word aboot her. to call her wonderfull i really hope you do not mean as a teacher because i had her in her music class and i am speaking for my self and many other people when i say she is a b****. and as director i have heard nothing different. support your children in what they want. if they want to be in band foreveer and love every second of it suport them. if they want to quit let them.

Don't most marching bands have a football team?

I don't believe it is just a "band director" issue. One needs to look at why Tony really stepped down. There is something else that is not right. It sounds like a lack of support by the administration - the the director, students or parents.

Not sure what's happen to the entire band program... I remember WELL long hours at band camp, and extra volunteered hours for practice, that made us the Bad-Ass's that we were! This was when Mr. Don Burton was running things. We have several awards & trophies in that case from the 80's!
Those were the good ol' days, for sure! LOL*

You don't need a football team to have marching band. Marching band is a separate activity and an excellent one at that! it is very competitive! support the marching band program, get it back at Lee county - they had a great one.

Actually, Richwine's bands were better than Burton's. Of course Richwine was a first-class a-hole, messed around on his wife with students, and all, but he was a good band director. The band took a slight step backwards when Richwine was forced to leave and Burton came.

Actually I am sure their wins were about the same. Both were great band directors. Hope our current marching band can experience the greatness again!

If they'd had the state championships back in Richwine's days, our band would have been a competitor for them. Just ask Mountain Proud, he was one of the star members of the band when he was in high school.

Libra

You're ready to put a lot of energy and drive into the day, but you'll prefer it if you're doing things that have meaning and emotional significance for you. There's a chance that you could get quite heated over anything that strikes you as important now, and others could be taken aback by your vehemence. There might also be a minor dust-up over a financial matter.
