I have been with ky farm bureau for the past 22 years. For that length of time i have never had to file any claim with them on my home or auto policy. I recently had to have an adjuster come to my home and look at my roof where i had had some minor damage from the strong wind and rain from stray pop up thunderstorm. A week after the adjuster had come to look at the damage, i get a letter in the mail from my local agent telling me that they can no longer insure me and as of such and such date my home owner's policy will no longer be effictive, but my auto policy will still be in place. So i called and ask for an explaination and there reason was they felt they could not insure me because i was high risk. My home is only 7 yrs old, so i know that cannot be an issue. To just drop you like your nothing after all these years is just unaccepatable. Are they doing everyone this way if you are going to have to eventually file a claim one day? I have recently moved my buisness elsewhere. Where are you when i needed you? I know where you was for the past 22yrs when my premium was due. Talk about "Big On Commentment". Yeah right!!

There are other companies to work with. I periodically shop coverage to get the best price and best coverage. If you have a military background, try USAA. In many instances, I've found them to be excellent. I've also found KFB to be excellent in some areas.

KFB especuially here in this town is horrible. uninsured you need to go speak with an attorney on this matter they have done several ppl like that. they must take the payment nd kee it thierself. cause once you file a claim or do a add on yor policy is no count go look at the secretary's home pool and all and rick 's home they are rip off's best advice i can give is contact the headquarters but dont contact them alone get yu a good lawyer and then contact them sounds as if you are or shoul get back some $$$$ f that's what they told you sounds like you have been paying for nothing best of luck

I have had FB since I was 19. filed a claim a year ago on my car, within 10 days had a check in the mail. But I don't deal with the two here, I go out of town to get coverage and to pay my bill. Oh yeah that check didn't come through B'ville office.

I called main office on them a couple of years ago, told them how they treated me, and they told me I could go to any county in Ky to get FB if I chose to and If I had any more problems let them know. So I just go to another county, several sometimes, to pay bill or add on insurance, If everyone quit going in there things might change, Power of the people really works.

Moved my policies to Estill about 14 years ago, because of a smart mouth remark from local agent. Have been very pleased with the treatment I recieved there. Have had kyfb for almost 40 years, no claims in all that time, but local agent didn't care if I did bussiness with him or not. Strange!

You know i talked to a few attorney's reguardung this matter, and because they actually had insurance thru the agent's office none of them would offer me any help. It was an expensive lesson learned, but like i said i took my buisness elsewhere and hope i will have better luck next time. I live here in lee county, but had been covered thru breathitt county office. I never would have any dealings with lee county because he is just a smart ass and acts if he don't care if you insure with him or not.

I am not a fan of fb. But I can say they have been good to me. We have four major claims since 1999. one major car accident, that included a lot of medical bills for me. One house fire,(2009) total loss of house, and two with the tornado. We lost two cars and had about 20,000.00 damage total to the two cars, my house and barn. Paid off quickly in every instance. But it took them almost a month to send an adjuster to look at my house and barn. Everyone around us had already seen one, and we were there the next day filing a claim. They didn't go until several days later. I know they had a lot of claims but they should have sent more adjusters ot help the ones they had.
They haven't raised our rates yet.I expect any day to get a letter stating they are either raising our rates or canceling us. As far as the staff in the Wolfe office they are great overall. Well except Lisa Hurst. She has an attitude.LOL But then when your husband got beat as bad as he did you would too if you worked in an public office and had to deal with some of those you know voted against your husband.

I switched about 6 months ago.....best decison I ever made. I have saved over $30.00 a month and have better coverage with a lower deductible....they are not ever IN the office down there either..that really was annoying!!!
Happy I swtiched before I actually needed something.
My uncle had been with them for over twenty years and had a small claim on a vehicle needed a little body work after minor damage and FB beattyville tried to tell him (not in a nice way) he had to take it to a certain place to get it worked on..my whole family has switched since then. Maybe he will eventually get the hint that his customer service skills need work!

They dropped me after a small claim. Have a family member who works for them said they were doing this all over. INsurance is only as good as your agent and company. They want you to be loyal but you can get no loyality from them.

WoW! Good to know he treats everyone the same, thought it was just me...wouldn't even give me an estimate. Had a friend in a competing ins co., she said he tells a lot of the people to call her, he doesn't want to deal with them.

The local agent is a real prick. I've never seen such a cavalier attitude about customers. I had Farm Bureau when I lived in Lee County and had many an unpleasant experience with the local agent. I had Farm Bureau when I moved away from Lee County and the level of customer service was light years above what it is here. When I moved back to Lee County I took my business elsewhere. It's getting increasingly hard to find an insurance agent locally, though, since Beach is now officially headquartered in Powell County. It's enough to make me find the great low rate I can get online, and go to The General and save some time.

If you come in with a bad attitude, he will give in back in return. Everyone in Beattyville complains about "butt kissers" and "two-faced" people. Well, if you doesn't like you, it doesn't event pretend to, so at least he's honest. Just because he won't suck up to everyone drawing a check a help people get insurance for a week to beat a court charge doesn't make him a bad person. The funny thing is even if a hundred people told him this was on topix, he would NEVER look at it, never give a crap, and go on with his life happy as a lark. If you are trying to stir him up, you have miserably failed. He couldn't give a shit! So the joke's on you!458

Ive had kfbi for 16 years. Never had a minutes trouble when needed or not. They always treat me good. Maybe your attitude has a lot to do with outcome. I agree with them if you don't like it try C Beach insurance and see how that goes. Bet you won't like them either. Great agents for 3times the price and 1/2 the coverage.

Well here is you a story...I went to FB about a month ago to see if I could get auto insurance for my three vehicles....the quote I was given was for 10,200/year. All of the vehicles are new and we've never had an accident. Pam always has an attitude when you go in there. Rick is usually a nice guy, but can be a prick when he wants. I'll stick with Geico.
