I'll be staying in Beatty (again) for about 3 months while working on a job. Is there anything new that I should know about (since last September)?

There have been a few town beautification projects --- old-style streetlights and park benches installed along Hwy 95 (Main St.).
The Lost River General Store is under new ownership and is vastly improved.
The "Sourdough Saloon" has opened a kitchen in the back room for burgers and ribs, etc.
Two new saloons have opened which also offer food -- "KC's Outpost" has a terrific sandwich menu, and the "Happy Burro Chili and Beer" offers award winning chili and frosty mugs of draft.
Ask for me at any of the above when you are in town.

Wow - that's the most I've seen there in 15 years!!!

I was going to buy a little house or a small lot in Beatty - but the prices are high (compared to what you can buy in Vegas or any other city at the moment). Right now a trailer and small lot in Beatty cost the same as a 2500 sq.ft. luxury home with a pool elsewhere!

Just might see you next week!

... Arriving late Monday.
Hope I can do a season with fires, floods (Death Valley) and burro round-ups!

I caught a bit of the rehearsal today and I went to say hello, but I lost you in the crowd (hard to imagine, isn't it?) Anyway, I owe you a beer! Name the time and place.

Sorry I missed you.
I'm usually in Sourdough or Happy Burro Mon thru Thurs nites.
Wed and Thurs nites I shoot in pool tournaments in the back of the Sourdough from 7pm on, although this Wed. nite there is a town election at the Community Center so I'll probably show up too late to play.
Look for my F-150 pickup truck (maroon and white).
Plates say "EX NY".

I still owe you a beer or a burger! I see your truck all the time, but I'm usually catching up on paperwork or walking the dogs in the evenings. Dinner is usually at the Ensenada - still haven't tried the Sourdough's new menu. And time is running out!
