Political tensions simmer in Montebello City Council race

All five Montebello City Council seats could be up for grabs this fall as the terms of three council members expire and the effort to recall two more gains steam.

Montebello needs a change instead of the usual candidates just playing musical chairs. Molinari and Vasquez need to be replaced. Jimmy Javaheri has some good ideas to bring about change in Mtb. He's got my vote.

Oh please, we'd be going from bad to worst...Yeah...Jimmy has 2 bankruptcies can't even run his business and had us tax payers bail him out and he claims he can balance the budget and cut cost...yeah he can start by paying back the loan the city gave him!! My vote is for the new guys!! NEW BLOOD...NEW IDEAS....no strings attached!!!

Good luck jimmy, we need new blood plus anyone is looking better than who is in there now. Unfortunatley, whoever get elected will be pressured to go with the ideas of the current members. What is needed,is for the new council to put the community and citizens first, and not worry about plagues or titles. Some have NPD and need to recognize it.

NO ON JAVAHERI !!!!

He used my credit to get loans and borrowed up to about $70,000.00 back since 2005. He recently paid my dad and my aunt $15,000.00 each but the interest he was paying monthly was not paid for the final month. His attorney was the one to deliver the cashiers check on his behalf and when the final interest was questioned ($125.00 and $150.00)the attorney said "Jimmy said take the cashiers check or leave it." So Jimmy was eager to take the money when in desperate need. He didn't have the courtesy to even say thank you in person. As far as my money, he still has not paid. I am not able to keep quiet any longer. Injustice is being done for asking for help on one of these forums in regards to collecting a debt from Jimmie from Jimmies Family Restaurant. It seems that a very dear friend of mine has been taken advantage for recently by a well known person to the city of Montebello. His name is Jamshid Javaheri or better known to all as Jimmy. Out of anger, as I heard that his attorney Anthony Offarril (last name might be spelled different) mentioned, Jimmy is not willing to pay this individual because I requested and made it public that he owed money. That is not a way to do business in the first place and second ... a man keeps his word. Mr Offarril drew up papers in 2005 which Jimmy would not sign blaming that his ex-wife Linda was working on numbers. Until this date he refuses to pay back the loans using this individuals credit which he made payments on. However, out of 52 payments so far he made 11 on time and the others had to be made by this individual so the credit wouldn't get damaged. About $33000.00 or more was borrowed and since no interest was paid there was a verbal agreement to eat at the restaurant. However, since the revenge has begun on his behalf...aside from not paying his debt which he used for the plasma television and the one in front of the counter, the revolving pie case and the change of lighting inside the dining area...plus pay some payroll and back state taxes, he now is charging $14000.00 in food that was consumed. This amount is difficult to believe being that this individual is about 130lbs and small children do not eat alot. So Jimmy it is time to be a man and take responsiblity. Your integrity is no more.
Again I will be posting updates because I am tired of seeing a dear friend who has been honest and willing to help an individual who begged in time of need.

So, I have met with Robert Urteaga 2 weeks ago and said he would help out in some way.....NOT. Prior to Jimmies being sold I also posted other comments asking for help to collect my money. Called Mr Bazua, Rose Mary Vazquez, Kathy Salazar etc... No response. Jimmy is another part of this circle with no moral or ethical beliefs.

In conclusion, Jimmy gladly took my money in time of need and he should gladly pay back the $33,000.00 plus interest. Certainly he had been paying some back but as we all know when you are late ...interest accrues,$39.00 late charges accrue and Jimmy you are not the acception!

Victim, I feel bad for your situation but alot of us figured him out years ago. I have to ask, why would you go and ask the felon Urteaga for help. The fact that Urteaga and Edwards eat or stop by that place of filth daily should have been a sign of what jimmy is all about. I think you should take him to court. Every resident of montebello is a victim of this council and John Edwards. Jimmy's restaurant is no Del Rae yet the city bought the property and in return Jimmy is now running for council in order to keep the majority, since rosie fears kathy and the felon robert will get recalled. This is Edwards plan B and the residents of Montebello better wake up. This is only the begining of how ugly this election is going to be. That lard as* rosie is spending more $$$ on her name plaques, x mas threes, encouraging teenage pregnancy, hiring uneducated police chiefs, PIO's, and now this corrupt asst. city manager. Orange police arrested Kevin Javaheri, 49, son of JIMMY JAVAHERI, in late February 2009 after they approached him in a strip mall restaurant where he was sitting with a loaded gun in a shoulder holster, said Deputy Dist.Atty.

A picture ID attached to the holster said Javaheri was a DHS agent assigned to "Counter Terrorism Intelligence Operations."He also had hundreds of fake business cards that identified him as a DHS agent.

Authorities do not know if Javaheri used the ID or the business cards to get access to secured places, Bogardus said, but he had claimed to be a DHS agent at least once before.

In September, Javaheri told Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies that he was a DHS agent after filing a report that his car had been burglarized.

If convicted, he could face a maximum sentence of four years.

What is sad is that things have really gone downhill ever since they bulldozed the park on Washington Blvd and moved in the the trucking companies. My uncle and many others fought this bad move. Tab, where was that article posted. It's looks strange because it was posted 1/1/08 but the arrest was in late february 09. Also why would the article say son of Jimmy Javaheri? It's not like Jimmy Javaheri is a famous public figure.

I agree with Smiles. The Calderons are crooks with connections over the many years as crooks. I'd vote in some young blood with new ideas and less 'connections' to local govt.

The actual hearings and sentencing was done in 2009. The crime was done in 2008.
This was in the news and came out in many news reports especially in the Orange County area since that is where it took place. They are public records.
The point is that Jimmy thinks he can continue to fool the local citizens. He looks down upon the hispanics, armenians, and other working class citizens. He constantly uses people for their services then pays them with comping meals instead of paying them. I personally heard him say about someone...."That person will always be rough on the edges and will never become anything."
