Pssst....Nixon, Carter, Reagan, Bush I, Clinton, Bush II....all said Vietnam was a mistake and since 56,000 U.S. Soldiers died, I'd say they are right.

You should jump in your time machine and join us in the 21st century.

That's a ridiculous over-generalization, that being as generous a possible for such nonsense. Vietnam was an honorable effort completely compromised by the Communist forces in America causing cowardice and ignorance to rule the street politic. Most of those Presidents thought the mistake was that we didn't allow our military to do its job. Killing millions of the Communist terrorists left very few of them to implement any long-term Stalin-like tyranny and horror there, which is seen by the close relationship we have had with them for decades and how we protect them from the real Communist scum in the area... the Red Chinese.

We didn't go there to stop the spread of communism. We went there because war is profitable. Did you even go to school past the 6th grade?

Vietnam is the size of Florida, roughly. We had superior forces and more money and yet after more than 14 years, we couldn't beat them because they had thousands of years of practice at gorilla warfare. They killed 56,000 Americans and we came away looking weak just like we did in Iraq and Afghanistan.

That concludes our lesson for the day. Now go back to cowering in your anti-communist bomb shelter, you fruit loop.

You arrogant twits don't know what you're talking about and have been brainwashed by Communists, weaklings and cowards. John F. Kennedy sent troops to protect the Southern Vietnamese from a Communist tyranny attempting to impose Russian and Red Chinese Communist tyranny on them. Ho Chi Minh was trained in the Soviet and armed from Red China. Fools like you get our troops killed and allow tyranny to flourish in the world.

Terrorists and murderers, uniformed or not, deserve only contempt - NOT declarations of "heroism."

We look weak to the world because we don't fight to win. We don't use overwhelming force or violence of action any more because we might offend the enemy.

We sent 1/2 a million troops to Vietnam, a country the size of Florida. 56,000 came back in body bags. That is overwhelming force but as usual, we didn't do our homework and we went in ill-prepared just like we did in Iraq and Afghanistan. That's why we lost all 3 wars.

When you don't study history, your destined to repeat it.

Yeah, that's it. I've been brainwashed by Putin. WTF? How do you expect other posters to take you seriously when you are the one who has your facts bassackward?

Eisenhower took us from Korea into Vietnam. Kennedy, Johnson and Nixon inherited his war. If we were so concerned about stemming the tide of communism, why not take on China? They were always a greater threat because it is a huge region while Vietnam is a dot on the map. Vietnam wasn't about stopping communism. It was about war profiteering especially after we made a killing on WWII. Thankfully, war is no longer profitable.

You do realize that we were about 3-4 months away from a NV unconditional surrender, when we left Vietnam?

You aren't a student of history, much less of Military History nor do you have any common sense when it comes to war fighting.

To your point, we also sent a 1/2 million troops to Kuwait, and won the ground war in 100 hours. We do know how to do it. We just don't. Why? We might offend. You know that the US is the only country in NATO that doesn't drink in the Middle East? We don't want to offend. And the point is not drinking. It's winning.

You compared a war in Kuwait to a war in Iraq. lmao That's comparing watermelons to grapes.

But hey, you're great at tooting your own horn, Mr. History. Kudos!

Wars aren't winnable anymore.$15 IED's proved that point in spades. Oh, and thanks to outside contractors, they aren't profitable anymore. Duh.

Have a great day, genius.

The start of the Democrat Communist mind kept us from liberating China, or protecting Tibet as we had promised. You arrogant twits think diplomatic presence equals military presence. It shows you should learn to read something other than extreme Left history rewrites.

I understand your frustration with educated, intelligent liberals who not only teach history but also write history books.

If you republicans stopped dumbing down your children, home schooling them with with your mindless ideology and religious dogma, you too could learn to read and write history books. Stop whining ad nauseum and re-enroll in school. Do it for your country, you moronic, mindless sheep.

You're an idiot. You totally missed the point. The question is, can we fight wars and win them. The answer is absolutely. The reality is that we don't because we don't want to offend the ENEMY. Wars are won through superior firepower and violence of action. A $15 IED can be mitigated. Political shenanigans cannot be mitigated.
