Hey I like the pick but I dont trust the pickers. Many names have been bandied about town as to who would run. I know Dan and he is a good man. My problem is Anita and Sam and Sheila and the angry public works guys and disgruntled supers and on and on. WE cant get good candidates anymore because they are defeated before they start. Every single person I just mentioned has their own agenda. This rainbow coalition will fall apart just like in the past because they cant get along. Actually I have closely watched these people hurt our city because they want to hurt Phil and Tony and Ken. Does that make sense. I love the ideaq that Dan Foley could be our Mayor but I dont trust what he has been told or what is supporters really want.

Joe, I agree totally. Dan is a great guy, but watch the video on the online evening sentinel site, and Sam is still running the show. There was talk at the DTC meeting that if Dan wins, Sam will get legal work, Marc Administrative Assistant, and Mel was promised a position to keep him quiet during the dems campaign.
You hit the nail on the head.....Ron Luneau Sr is also on the video. Why is a Seymour resident interested in Derby?? because he has a score to settle with Kenneth Hughes. I like Dan, its whose behind him once he wins I cant stomach. |

1 We sure are saving a lot of money for sure, my Son had no Spanish teacher for 6 weeks in the High School; the teacher went to a different city because she might get laid off. Middle school sports are a thing of the past. And real soon we will have students teaching students. Wow that is a great way to save money, kids teaching kids. I agree that Tony Staffieri is doing a great job. As to the republican from the parking garage please post one message. Yes we have a great bond rating, with fewer teachers for the kids. As to Tony the hit man keep my taxes low because what you are doing to the school system my house will be worth less And my taxes will be lower because who the heck will buy my house with our great school system. Tony you did more in the past 4 years as Mayor to destroy our school system then any body before you, and now it is time to go. Tell the people the truth you will have to raise taxes when the middle school opens. Dan owes noyhing to anyone, he is his own man. That is why we call him Dan the Man.... So don't think anyone will tell him what to do. Good Luck Dan you have our vote, and all my kids for they can vote now and they can't wait. |

Hey Derby Man lets get something straight. Our Superintendant loved his budget when he got it by the Dem controlled Tax Board. The Mayors office has so little to say about Education Funding that it is shocking. Alan Schlesinger ruined Education years ago and we have been playing catch up ever sinse. So you know, and you can look it up. The city of Derby gave its Schools the largest increase of any other city in the state. They got an increase every year since he has been in office. Stop with the phony accusations.

Its funny. Dan stated he was asked 3 months ago to run, then was pushed aside when Vin showed interest, then was asked again when Vin decided not to run.
Classic DTC. |

Derby Dan has not been to one City meeting since he has shown interest in running, which, according to his own words, was in April 2009.
Shame on you Derby Dan. You will not be my man. |

Dan is what is best for the city of Derby. Yes, he has the support of employees of this town. Someone like Ron Luneau (who attended school with Dan) who will get his job back. Unlike Tony, Dan has his own mind. Yes, he may have yet to prove it but Tony has proved that his bad decisions are fueled by a landscaper and a guy who sells toilets. No one has to hurt Ken Hughes because HE has hurt himself. Ask him about the claim he just turned over to his homeowner's insurance when he moderated the Derby blog. That is political suicide. Tony only had money put into the BOE because it is an election year. The BOA never wanted to work, listen to or have the BOE help in some of the educational decisions. They want to be in total control. This led to Tony's demise. Also, the fact he is holding out on the mil rate...duh, electon year? Dan is smart, open-minded, approachable and will be a great mayor!

Ron Luneau cant even vote...he lives in Seymour.
This administration has done more in 3 years than the democrats did in the last 8. Dan is a great guy, and I know him well. He is not the problem, it is Sam, Marc, Mel, Luneau, Parizo, Coscia who are the problems. If Dan had his own mind, he would have come in with a qhole new slate. The dems first fundraiser has a whopping 50 people compared with Tonys 200 plus. The dems cant even field an entire slate as even Tom Lionetti is running away. The problem with the dems are they stay in their little circle, spreading rumor and lies amongst each other until they cant separate lie from truth and think the voters feel the same way. As shown in the last 2 elections, the voters like the progress and will give Tony and cre another 2. |

In respose to WDO. Anybody who is anybody in derby should have an axe to grind with this incompetent administration. Derby is being run by a group of bafoons. Tell them to pack their bags. Come November they will be replaced. The people that wdo chose to malign are upstanding citizens of derby and should be treated as such. WDO chose to do the cowardly thing and go on line to spread his lies. He must be a republican.

Staffieri has done more in 4 year than any other mayor. That is a fact

I find that as I sit here and read all of the blogs that are written here, I am sneering and laughing to myself about how misinformed, and how ignorant so many can be. Please tell me how we are doing any justice to the children in our school system. Please tell me why it is that we do not have enough school books for each child so they have to make photocopies and hand them out? Please tell me why is it that when a man is shot in town people are screaming about where the supers are? And then we have Mayor Tony stating that the supers only worked two to three shifts a month in the past. Every time he open his mouth it is something that is fed to him to say and it is so wrong! The supers worked over 15 shifts a month, covering vacations and open shifts left by the regulars. Yet now my taxes pay for overtime hours to regulars when the supers worked for part time. Why is that I can drive by our local police department to see that Cadillacs and BMW's are in the parking lot. As for the schooling situtation, please let me know when we can expect the high school to have a working science lab? When can experiments be funded for our children? These children are nor being prepared for college. My son graduated this past year and is now in college. He was not at all prepared for this experience. The high school here failed him and many others. You want to be sickened, look truthfully with open eyes at what you are praising our fool of a mayor for. The only reason that he got in was because the drunks at Connies came to vote for him. It was heard outside the elections from workers that people voted who have not voted or who have never voted and are in their later years. I think that Dan Foley has the education, the best interest of this city and has a firm belief that Derby can be what it once was. Dan Foley has the support from me. I think that the City of Derby needs someone who can think for himself and not be someone's little puppet. Move over maestro, there is a new man in town!
