Man gets jail time in DUI crash

An elderly Ansonia man, who crashed head on into another driver while he was driving drunk the wrong way on Route 8 last year, was sentenced in Superior Court to 45 days in prison Friday.

I am confused. Just what does age have to do with sentencing? The man was driving under the influence. I will bet anything that he has been DUI many times in the past, only this time he managed to seriously injure someone. If he had killed this poor woman would he have been set free???

It's a bad situation made worst by the events that followed it. I'm wondering how are they expecting Robert Roditis to help pay for Ms. Bachleda's medical bills which are still pilling up. There is no way she'll be at least as healthy as she was. and she's not that young.
