One-way streets are very inconvenient especially for the residents who live on the street. The current situation is a perfect traffic calming measure to control speeds. I hope the commission considered prohibiting parking either on one side or both sides before recommending a one-way street. Where I live, residential streets the width of Lowell are common in subdivisions. Motorists just have to be careful and the narrow streets do control speeds. The city should carefully consider creating one-way streets.
