Allegedly suicidal man taken into custody for evaluation

A man who allegedly threatened to shoot himself was taken into custody peacefully early Sunday morning when officers persuaded him to surrender.

Okay, some may laugh but that is one of the most logical statements I've seen on this forum. A lot of people around here could stand to take that advice.

Well done EPD, HCMH, EFD and the - I am supposing newly created - EPD Crisis Negotiation Team! I am a Eureka native who has been out of California for a couple of years, but I do remember some of the unfortunate mistakes, and thereafter debates over who layed with the guilt. It seems as the a vast improvement has been made and I look forward to keeping informed on the mental stability of Humboldt County's citizens in the years to come.

I would be interested in a followup report, maintaining anonymity of course, of this man's prognosis and openness to therapy.
