Belant gets 89 years to life

A Humboldt County Superior Court judge sentenced convicted child-molester Andrew Brian Belant to serve 89 years to life in prison Monday.

Why isn't the name of church where he worked mentioned anywhere? Whenever someone commits a crime their place of employment isn't kept secret. Not all of us reading about the actions of this pedophile live in Eureka and/or are familiar with this case.

* at Lafayette Elementary School (later articles only talk about "a Bayside school")
* the Humboldt Child Care Council and
* the Triumphant Life Camp.

He tried to be next to kids as much as he cool, and all of these groups let him join.

Maybe he should have hired an attorney instead of representing himself in court? May this sentence be a lesson to all who think they could be their own lawyer. I'm not trying to excuse his crimes, but he could have done better.
