<quoted text> You are correct they did have a town meeting, I think it may have been held at the Best Western. We all know that only a minority of us vote. Not many showed up. But the people that vote would probably show up. It is just really hard to make a decision when you don't have any information on the candidates. If we are lucky the local paper will put a small paragraph about each of them in the paper. That just isn't enough to base a decision on.
The Best Western probably was what the police association put on. If that is the case then it was limited prepared questions from the association and not open for questions from others from what I'm told. I doubt that the city has put on a real town hall Q&A for the candidates in the past.

Then you should make a list of questions for each, contact the City Secretary for contact information on the candidates, then you contact each of them in person. Make your decision after that.

Actually it was held at the community center, in one of the larger rooms in the newer add on bldg.

You are correct. Policeman's association has held them at BW and also Theatre/Courts building in the past. The only town hall was at CC. I remember it well.

They must not have publicized to much I didn't know about that. I will keep my eye out this time.

Please do. It is always hush, hush. I will post any info I get wind of. Glad you are a interested resident. I wish I knew who you are, as I think you and I are probably on the same page. Refreshing to know other residents want to be involved and informed. You can always email me, sdjstokes@att.net.

I am concerned about Moutons lack of experience. Y'all are saying there is no difference in Pounds and Moutons voting record. Maybe we should write in someone else.

instead of believing what others say, research their voting records for yourself on the city web page.

Interesting. I have made a conscious decision to not vote in the 2013 DP City Election. Why bother, as I saw on here once upon a time. I wish all the candidates well in their campaign. 3 votes in my home will not be cast.

Good attitude, no one should cast a ballot in the election. That would show them. Now, if you do not go vote, will you retain the right to complain.

When did the matter of voting, allow or deny a citizen the right to voice their grievances?

I have always valued your opinion until now. I now think you are no better than the rest that never take the time to vote. Go drink your tea by yourself!
