can anyone post the phone number or address for the Fairmont Park West HOA, it is not the Fairmont Park CIA(community improvement association run by AVR management) but the actual HOA for those North of Stonemont road, they post no number or contact anywhere and website is not up. What should we expect for 36 bucks a year!!!

wondering how they get away with that?- It is my understanding legislation passed a couple years ago made it so they had to publicize those things. I know my HOA started a website attributed to that.

The HOA should post their contact numbers on a public location visible to all. One thing for sure the HOA in West Fairmont has maintained a good standard of maintenance for the subdivision. Although the area is going on 40 years old, the property value has not deteriorated.

Don't cut your grass for a couple of weeks and they will get in touch with you.

That is what a HOA is suppose to do. I notice, when I drive around Fairmont West, the grass is mowed, the yards are neet, there are no old cars parked in the front yard and broken driveways are replaced. The HOA has more legal clout than the city when enforcing ordinances.

There are some benefits to having a HOA. There are places where they can have too much power but that doesn't seem to be the case in Fairmont.

“Ok, maybe I know a little bit.”

But I don't know that.

It is a great group of people who run the hoa for fpw. We have lived there for years and are very happy with the board and the management company. They go above and beyond to make it a better place.

Yea, the people who don't like the HOA are the people whose property looks like crap and don't like authority. Originally the HOA in old fairmont was administered by local residents. Maybe some people remember Jimmy Ray Spradlin in Old Fairmont. Jimmyy Ray was the president of the HOA and was perceived as being too authoritative to the residents however he acted in the best interest of the residents and the community was better off because of it. It has been found to be better to contract with an unbiased company to do the dirty work.

Is that right?. We don't have a HOA in this neighborhood to run our lives and the homes here are well kept up without someone to hold our hands.

Granted there are some abuses however all you have to do is look around at other neighborhoods that do not have an HOA and see what happens. To avoid the abuses everyone must participate in the operation of the HOA and make sure it is run correctly. You receive a notice of meetings, be sure and attend. The HOA is hired by you, the property owner, to protect your property value by maintaining standards of care.

We don't have a HOA here, but we can call the city of Deer Park when things get out of hand. This is a very old neighborhood with a lot of the older people still here but people get old and die. When there is a problem, it's usually with renters. A sign of the times. Nobody in the younger generations seems to care unless they have a boot on their neck.

The City of LaPorte also has ordinances that apply to Fairmont West and also are enforced by code enforcement officials, however these ordinances are more general in nature. The HOA has rules which are more specific to the area involved and are enforced by fines and deed restrictions.
