Doesn't seem to be a problem, Deer Park just passed more taxes. Of course those who have money know they must protect their children and can afford security, but when something happens its all about gun control. Deer Park have officers at the school from what I've seen so that is good,. but its i think its only at the high school?

Don't forget the firemen who were shot yesterday. Why did this guy have any gun and or out of jail. Guns will always be available on the black market so, especially in today's environment, schools need to be protected. Teachers need to carry.

I bet this topic is up for continued discussion this spring, especially with the legislature about to go into session...

Can you imagine if Obama proposed armed guards in every school at the cost of many billions of dollars unpaid for?

Hez, I hate to say it, but I have to agree with you. This idea is only acceptable now that another tragedy has occurred. For some reason it's okay if Wayne La Pierre says it, but if Obama proposed it people would probably take offense to the idea. I personally don't like the idea. Schools have already criminalized childish behavior. I think putting another LEO in schools would only serve to protect the administration and their zero tolerance policies. Plus, if I'm the guy that's gone off the rails and wants to shoot up a school, I now know who I need to kill first, because now it's common knowledge that there's another armed guard. Let's be honest. This school shooting thing is so random and unpredictable. There's no real solution. Any quick-fix, reactionary response comes at the expense of someone else's freedoms. I'll leave it at that. There's a lot more to be said.

It's not the cost. Most of the expense of public education is wasted on things having nothing to do with actual education.

What would Fox News say about an Obama proposal to put armed guards in every school? It would be hilarious.

Just about everything Obozo does is hilarious is except for the damage it creates.

2013 is coming. There will be a lot more to add to the list, for this total failure of a President. Ever wonder why this country is now so divided?

Of course you don't.

Obama is the reason the country is divided? If Romney were president, the country would be united?

Race and class warfare was started by Obummer. Romney is nothing more than a damn liberal skunk turned inside out, no matter which party the fool belongs
to. I would not expect anything different.

I take the tea party position concerning school protection, protect thyself and your issue. If one supports unlimited dispersal of guns one should expect their children's chances of getting shot to death by guns to increase. It's gawds will.
I do not wish to have taxes increased as well as the debt by "protecting" school children with armed guards, likely these trained security personnel would be on (sub)par with the current level of school security guards currently arresting little children and sending them through the legal system for minor actions, or the security folks at airports. What would be next, picture I.D. and an x ray of the little children before they enter the building?

Obama however is rapidly becoming the worst President ever, taking the reigns from W. His "leadership" is awful and he is the most uninspiring President ever.
Although I used to deny it, it is obvious that he and his party are in fact mule headed socialists. However, we have in part to blame the idiot right wing mule headed extremists as well as FOX right wing propaganda channel for our plight as their creepy candidates are for the most part not electable.
