Yes-if something is bothering you-just call the cops and they will come out and take care of it for you.

Is the Port keeping you up?

Some nights when the Port is rockin the ground is shakin there is a whole lot a wakin going on in La Porte.

Not only sound pollution but physical ground pollution, visual light pollution and sensual air pollution.

Where will we draw the line at destroying not only ourselves... but our Earth as well... and therefore the futures of every human being that comes after us?

There is a disturbing the peace after 10 pm. At that time you can call the police and they will visit the disturber. There is a noise level that usually applies to commercial noise that is tested by a machine and is hard to accomplish a reading and I think it is because the level rate has been set so high? Not sure about that. And you can go to the city and file a complaint for barking dogs.

I wish it applied to loud vehicles and I'm not talking about the music.

Aha! Here is exactly where the problem lies, because technological advances have rendered old laws worthless or full of holes. Those "after ten pm" laws made sense twenty years ago when the loudest noise equipment could make was a car's horn. Today, amplified sound can be sent over a mile! It's like saying there's no problem letting off an atom bomb near your house because it's only three-megaton, not seven-megaton. You know a 3-megaton bomb will still devastate.

What is needed is a new approach. Forget time of day or night, and replace it with a flat decibel limit applied at all times. Secondly, mandate that anyone broadcasting amplified sound outdoors may only use HSS focused sound, not traditional pan-directional sound. Focused sound narrows sound into a thin beam much as a magnifying glass does with light. Unlike traditional equipment which sends it everywhere, focused sound travels in a straight line. Those standing outside the beam hear nothing or almost nothing.

Thus you can beam sound to your audience ---- but leave others in peace!

If we had no government regulation, a motorist would run your mother or grandmother over. And they're not saying you can't play it in your own space. they are saying you can't dump noise into other people's space. The government is PROTECTING our private lives.

You need to learn the difference between the government protecting you... and the government taking away your rights.

The difference is... there is no difference.

Every law passed is an infringement of your rights.
