I received Mouton's newest flyer today and he is really reaching for voters. Even using a picture of his wife's grandmother receiving the "Citizens of the Year Award" in 1990. I didn't know that had any meaning since it wasn't his award and even if he got one, as I did, how would that make him the better choice. Maybe next he will boast about receiving the Rotary International Paul Harris award, if he has received one like I have. Who knows what he will claim next to prop up his wisdom to lead our great city. Sickens me to see how he is using his wife's grandparents for his agenda.

This is interesting:

Mr. Mouton's interview by Richard Tew

Mr. Mouton's comment:

“On the subject of city services, city amenities such as the Battleground Golf Course are enjoyed by many in and around the city of Deer Park."

"While some residents see the course as just one of several “amenities” provided by the city for the enjoyment of it's residents, still others view the course's self-sustainability as something that has to be taken into consideration. The golf course does cost the city money to operate and based on financial statements periodically released to the public, doesn't make the money some around town think it should to remain open.”

“The difficult thing would be to if you take the stance of ‘we should cut that,’ how do you go undo all of that when it's been here for an extended period of time?” asks Mouton.”

REAL LEADERS do not have to ask how do you go undo all of that, REAL LEADERS know! Jeff or Larry are leaders and they will know how to go and undo all of that and will be more qualified, IMO, to take the City of Deer Park on the right path for your future, the future of you children, and the future for your grand children.

Just say NO to Jerry, you have others than know what to do for a better Deer Park.

My mother received that in the mail, I guess he is targeting seniors. She thought it was in poor taste, didn't even know who he was,was confused by including that picture, and threw it in the trash. Waste of money and class.

If Mouton wins, it may well be because of what you say was a "Waste of money and class". Just wait and see.

At least he is contacting the voters, even if it may be only those that voted last time, nothing received here from any of the others. There are a few signs about but must have to be close friends to get one.

. My sister-in-law got one with a voter registration for seniors to be able to vote by mail. Maybe he was thinking that if anyone mailed this card in....they MUST vote for Mouton.

It might backfire, we'll just have to wait and see. A relative of mine, a senior, got one and thought it was comical. He tossed it as well.

A FEW SIGNS??? Now THAT is funny. He's got monster size signs on billboards and fences. Waste of money. A sign of desperation. Vote for Pound or Cernosek if we want a positive change.

I love how you people can hide behind Topix and think it makes a difference...It really makes me laugh that your candidates cannot stand alone but have to sling mud at the other candidates...."Hey vote for me because the other guy sucks!" "Hey vote for me because the other guy has too many signs!" "Hey vote for me because the other guys mail outs are in poor taste!" I personally want someone who has a clean background, christian values and enough sense to not bash other candidates.

You obviously haven't read all the comments on Topix. There has been plenty of mud slung from both sides. While someones record may be clean that doesn't mean they have their values in the right place all the time. Give me a break. I love how you hide behind Topix and think you make a difference. It really makes me laugh that your candidate cannot stand alone but have to sling mud at the other candidates...." Hey vote for me cause the other guys got a record or so I've been told". I personally want someone that doesn't want to raise taxes all the time and has enough sense to not bash other candidates.

I've noticed the signs as well. We shall see if it helps or hinders.

I'm surprised he hasn't had an advertisement on tv yet. His bribes and flyers are all ridiculous. Freakin Mr. Crouton.

Specifically, what "bribe" has Mr. Mouton accepted? Equally, whom has he "bribed"?

Crouton, HalfPound, and CashYourCheck are (all three) poor choices, but we must choose one and learn to live with it. Complaining about it wont change things.
I personally know two of the three – CashYourCheck is (in my opinion) a trouble-making crook. Crouton (also in my opinion) is a smarter crook that takes his orders from current mayor Diddle and from the Chamber of Commerce. We’ve already had too many years of Mayor Diddle in charge and I don’t want the next Mayor to be just as bad (or worse).
Big signs mean that the candidate has the money to pay for them – all three of them have money and supporters with money.
I don’t think that Crouton really cares about the citizens of Deer Park. His interests seem to be more towards supporting the business with little consideration to the people who pay taxes and live here. His past actions seem to indicate he is more interested in looking good than in actually serving those that elected him.
CashYourCheck is (in my opinion) a hothead who makes poor choices. I’ve known him to charge for services that were (at best) questionable.
I’ve heard lots of negative stuff about HalfPound and his long criminal history…. I looked into this and found that accusations do not make guilt. I did a lot of stupid things when I was a teenager and then I grew up. I haven’t seen HalfPound do much good or bad for the citizens of Deer Park.
So far, I’m leaning towards voting for HalfPound
