Ever wondered if perhaps that traffic light was put there due to the emerency vehicles that will be entering Main Street from 3rd? Call me crazy but I'm pretty sure that was the reason it was installed.

Your comment is not correct and very unfair. The traffic light at 2nd St. was removed by TXDOT many years ago. Not having pedestrian safety at 2nd St. has been very hazardous and has prevented customers from safely patronizing all of the businesses at this intersection. The requests from business owners for the traffic light to be put back predates Mainly Drinks. Planning for it was done before Mainly Drinks opened, and though Debra did speak out in support of the light being returned to Main St., it was not put there specifically for her. Other business owners lobbied for that traffic light to be put there too.
That Mainly Drinks offers alcohol is no different than other establishments on Main St. that offer alcohol. Main St. Station, El Ranchero, Main 101, and others to name a few. Your other comments reflect some personal attitude you have and are cowardly.
Go check the minutes of the council meetings when Deb G. was demanding the changes in the city ordinance and had the city attorney fighting for her. Then the next month she went before the council and got the traffic light against the advice of the Texas highway department. Brain dead Mosher got the light for her I guarantee that. It was the only time she ever attended a council meeting except during the period when she was running for city council.

Having Mainly Drinks on Main St. and having a traffic light at 2nd St. is much better for Main St. and the shopping district than not having them. I believe that Mr. Moser recognizes that a cookie cutter mentality is not best for the outcome of Main St. I appreciate his ability to see past rigid bureaucratic control.

I hope that the lawyer, failed politician, Sunday school teacher / and owner does not expand and move. She cost us taxpayers $125,000 for the unneeded traffic light in front of her store. She wanted it to stop traffic so they could see her business. She bamboozled whacky councilman Tommy Mosher to convince the rest of the spend happy council to let her have her way. She also high pressured the city fathers to change the city ordinance so she could sell booze there. What a hyrocrite. Her lifestyle is not consistent with any church tenants except at her brand of church.
Your comments are bitter and not fair. Did her daughter beat yours in some competition or something? This is a lovely place and you can't stand the fact that it's doing well. I applaud this establishment and we go about once a week. It's a great addition to La Porte.

Shopping district? Do you mean the crowds that are struggling to cross the street and get into the three shops that exist? Who knew that three over priced shops constituted a shopping district? Apparently, when we had our last garage sale, that was a "shopping district" as we had five homes involved.

The hatred that drips from this site is palpable. You need to let go of hate in 2013 - you will live longer (and happier).
First, thank you so much to those of you that have risen to defend my business and my wife. Mainly Drinks is not perfect, but we have experienced steady growth and profitability thanks to loyal and supportive customers like you. You "get" us, and we hope to be doing business on Main Street for a long time.
Second, thank you to those who have raised valid complaints here, without hyperbole or vitriol. We have found that finding good staff and ensuring consistent service is one of our biggest challenges. We have our highs and lows, but on average we have been able to improve in customer service. My sincere hope is that our service will rise to the level of quality in food, wine and beer that our customers have come to expect.
Finally, to the the haters and conspiracy nuts on this site (you know who you are): you are the reason I only look at this site every six months or so - mainly to enjoy the crazy show. Keep doing what you do; nothing I say will change your behavior, and you are making a mockery or yourself.
Thanks for your attention,

My husband and I love Mainly Drinks. It has a warm and inviting atmosphere. It's so warm and "homey." Your wife was kind and charming when we were there and we have been back several times. We have not ordered food, but have seen the chef visit many tables that did and all were thrilled to see him and nothing but complementary. The people that are being ugly have nothing better to do. It was a lovely place and we will continue to support you and your wife in your endeavors. Good luck to you!

Wow, Steve... you show up and post on Topix... and call it a crazy show.

Thanks.

I've never said anything bad about "Mainly Drinks"... but that is going to change now.

I will never visit, "Mainly Drinks"... mainly because the City bent over backwards for y'all... and did nothing for the pool hall that was supposed to be opening across the street from you.

Likely because you were better friends with the city... or you greased the proper hands, regardless... I wish you and your business to go the way of the wind.

Peace, love and a life in harmony,

I'm sure Steve and Deb are very concerned and upset that they will never have the pleasure of you crossing their threshold and benefiting from your scholarly wisdom.

Then there's the loss of business that you would have brought in if things could have been different.

Heavy, how can you say "bad" about them. You only know rumor that you have read here. You have no idea or clue about what the city offered these people if anything!!!

You are being nothing but a rumor monger. IMO

Ummmm... I was there in La Porte when all of this went down... in case you forgot.

Steve did not have to come here and poo poo on this forum.

He chose to come here and engage us... he spoke his mind, now I will speak mine.

I have remained silent about Mainly Drinks, Deb and Steve.

They pulled some major strings to get their business there... and I am a bit pissed that there are even strings there to be pulled.

We don't elect people to represent us so they can favor their friends and associates.

We don't elect people to represent us so they can enrich themselves with consulting fees.

I just wonder... was there a consulting fee paid to pull those strings?????

I have not been here in awhile but tried Mainly Drinks one more time last Saturday. I wish the owners could sit in the seat and be served so they could see what we are talking about. How about the owners come in one Saturday night and be seated by the hostess and order from a menu that is incomplete, wait for their wine and have their order taken over and over. Then wait for water, and wait for wine refills and feel like they have overstayed their welcome when they want to just sit and talk instead of being rushed out for the waiting group to sit down.

I think best I stay in Deer Park and away from this site..........and Mainly Drinks.

When you here one report, it may be an anomaly, but when you hear 10 or 20 it is problem.

The only explanation for consistently bad customer service is an acute case of hubris.

I've only been there once to attend the artwalk. Place was very crowded. They must be doing something right to be that packed. I'll give them a try foodwise. Its interesting to see all the posts of negativity. If you don't like a place then say that, but there's no need to be so ugly about it.

You are so stupid sometimes. So the pool hall did not make it. Maybe they did not do everything they needed to do. You hate because these people are working hard and trying to be positive members of the community.
