I have been told by one of his old employees that he is not good to work for. It was time for a change for my pet.

But I don't know that.

No one person in any industry is going to be the right person for everyone, and, on every subject in life you have as many opinions as you do people. My husband and I are very protective of our canine child, and my husband was as happy with Dr. Jones as some people are unhappy, so I know we will visit him again. All that matters is each person having someone they feel good taking their pet to.

And... on this we will have to disagree.

There is a difference between being a likeable person and a good vet.

I admit, Dr.Jones is a likeable enough person... but it does not matter to ME how much the vet and I get along... I look for a vet that gets along well with my animal.

I'm not at the veterinary clinic to see the doctor... my pet is.

All those frills most clinics have, lots of staff, fancy offices, waiting rooms... all that stuff adds up and SOMEONE has to pay for it... and I'd prefer it not be me.

On an entirely different note...Thursday April 11 is the La Porte Livestock Auction. Come out and support the kids. Last year I bought half a steer(partnered with someone). The kids who don't place in the show still need to sell their animals, so after the auction I was told there was a young man from the Harbor who needed a buyer for his pig so I bought that too. Since I don't eat a lot of red meat, it is a good thing I have twin boys in college. Anyone can be a buyer...come out to Lomax and help reward the kids for their hard work.
Also they didn't have enough sponsors for the Miss Sylvan Beach young ladies so look for Miss Animal Clinic of La Porte in the parade.

What are you trying to do here? It is quite unbecoming of you to blow your own horn. We are taught to be humble about the good deeds we do

Hopefully this will serve as evidence that we do disagree sometimes to those who think we are the same person :)

Deer Park Animal Hospital is where I take my pets, and have for years. They are a little pricier but they actually care about the animals. They do everything possible to keep your pet healthy and happy!
I have heard horror stories about the clinic on Spencer by the airport. The vet there apparently does not give a "you know what" about the animals they see or their owners. I have a friend that used to take his dog there with allergies, that doctor pumped the dog full with cortisone which is the "quick fix", after years of those injections and horrible vet care I convinced them to come to Deer Park were the pet was later diagnosed with Cushing disease. According to Deer Park this disease directly correlates with cortisone injections.
I have also heard they euthanize pets that could be saved if the proper vet care is presented.
My recommendation is Deer Park Animal Hospital because the doctors there seem to truly love what they do.

I moved my pet to Deer Park animal after having my fill of Dr. Jones. Two things happened that made me leave them after a short time, one was my dog who was elderly was boarded with them for several days. When we got back, I noticed a sore on his foot, I immediately took him in and it was infected. I was not charged for the office visit, but was for the medication which was quite expensive. They told me it was a pressure sore and they should have caught it. Second was every time my dog went in the first question I was asked was when was I going to euthanize the dog. I moved him to a new vet and he lived another year. He was not in pain and did not need to be euthanized when he was at DP Animal. It is too easy to put down a pet when it gets difficult to care for them
