If you want a copy of the lease agreement that was presented to the city or any of the other RFP's you can request it by open records. Just ask for the disc, I think it will cost $1. I paid $38 because I asked for all the notes as well.

The Texas Attorney General has ruled that the city must turn it over if requested by open records. Now you can see what the city was hiding for so long. The city can only withhold income tax information and drivers license numbers that might be a part of the RFP's, everything else they must give out if requested.

Also, on any future RFP's they will have to release the record now that the AG has made the ruling.

Also if you want to know what any city employee is paid along with the benefit costs that the city pays for by employee you can request that as well. The AG has ruled that the city must provide that information via open records requests. You can ask by employee name or by department too if you want. You might be charged a fee if it is a large request.

Its time to get some transparency in our city government.

Yeah, shame on someone for trying to make a living. Just because you lost your job because of the shady things you were doing doesn't mean others are the same. You are such a weasel of a man!

Just what are you saying or accusing me of? Come face to face with me and make those comments. I didn't loose my job I retired. If you would like I can show you my letter of recommendation from the company I worked for. Don't listen to one or two who seem to spread those lies. Maybe you are the one I'm revering to. You are a coward and full of lies!

Many cities have full transparency, I had asked a simple question and was basically denied saying they would have to get the AG to make a ruling for my request, or, I could withdraw my request. I didn't withdraw my open records request so they had to follow thru with an opinion from the AG.

Enough said, they had to release it. Now, that particular part is in full disclosure as other cities voluntarily do, but the City of Deer Park didn't want to grant a simple request, thus the results.

The same for the golf course RFP's, they refused the information which many have asked for, said I could withdraw my request, I didn't and they had to get the AG to rule on it. I pointed out what they could have done to satisfied my request as per a phone call to the AG, but that wasn't good enough for the city.

Why they make it so hard to get disclosure I don't know.

If you were at the candidate forum Wednesday night you would have heard all of the candidates that attended make the comment for more transparency. So now we know that two of the candidates for Mayor will have more transparency as well as both position #1 candidates. In fact one called for no fee for open records requests. the last two cost me over $35.00 each.

Apparently you were not at the forum. Likely you too would be against transparency just like the city. Times are changing for the good, get accustomed to it.

Agreed, they probably wouldn't need so many people, but every couple weeks on here he's requested some useless records all over again.

Your probably one of the idiots that has either voted for the incompetent fools we've had running our city the past decade or too damn lazy to vote at all.
Bill I hope you never let a55holes like this dissuade you from exposing the BS that's been going on in our city for far too long.
Keep up the good work!!!

Shelley, butt out. If Bill can come on here and dish dirt on people day in and day out, he should have thick enough skin to take criticism.

I am all for transparency, but why would I care what my meter reader or water plant operator, etc. makes? They have families, homes, bills to pay. Every few years the city compares its wages to surrounding cities. Shelly beware, Bill is on your side now but even if Pound becomes mayor, Bill will turn on him too. He just needs a life. I hope when I retire I travel, enjoy grand kids, go fishing, etc. I hope I have a life and don't spend every waking minute consumed with open records and meddling.

The only people who should have a problem of what Bill's "snooping" are the ones who should be embarrassed in what he exposes and those too damn ignorant to know he's doing them a favor by shedding light on things that affect them.

Which are you?
