There has been tons of speculation on who was funding the "Vote No" Campaign. The names have went from Hoot to Koch Brothers to Slum Lords, but i think we can all agree that it is private money.

However, i have not seen any speculation on who is funding the "Vote Yes" Campaign. Someone has spent a great deal of their private money on pushing this agenda. They must stand to make a huge profit or have some underlining reason. I am sure the "Vote Yes" topix crowd should be able to answer this easily.

The campaign is funded by "Vote for LPISD". I am trying to work up a request for the doner list, but am having major computer problems. I have been kicked off 10 times with just this one post.

That is fine, i just want to make sure there isnt any corruption. If one cent was spent beyond the law, then the IRS will be involved.
If school sources were used in any "Vote for" campaign, then they will be prosecuted. I have already forwarded a couple of IP's that was on here campaigning during working hours.... Which us taxpayers pay for. They have obviously been shutdown.

I was for this bond, but wanted better information. I have since been called tons of slanderous names and publicly ridiculed from the "Vote Yes" team. The team who i thought was on my side. I have even got flact through my kids from some of there teachers.......One of them even lost her semester award!!!

LPISD has picked on the wrong guy.... the wrong family. You can try to bully me, but you will not bully my kids!!!!

If you pay taxes in the LPISD go look in the mirror. YOU are the one paying for the funding the yes vote with your tax dollars. The school has no other means to generate money except tax payers.

Bullies abound in Lpisd, especially over there on San Jacinto st. I hope you find the information you're looking for and if guilty, I hope the parties involved loose their professional heads so to speak or better yet get the hell fined out of them and spend some time in the hoosegow. LP is starting to look a lot like Hazzard County.... where are the Duke boys when we need them?

Wrong. The contractors and technology vendors who expect to reap a piece of the $250 million typically donate funds to these campaigns. It's pretty common practice.$10,000 for signs and payment to TOPIX Trolls will buy them millions in revenue.

Why didn't you think this is the likely source of the funding?

Elaine, how much is that "outside LP anti Bonds" group who is paying for ads and yellow signs paying you to troll the Topix site?

Don't tell me you are not being paid. Your stands against this and most everything else good for La Porte don't make any sense otherwise.

Just because someone chooses to think independently and not as a sheeple, doesn't mean they are on a payroll, I would counter with the "for" lobby has a more organized front with deeper pockets than anyone against it.

I own a home in La Porte. I pay taxes in excess of $6,000 per year. I'm tired of paying taxes to get a mediocre school district performance. The school buildings here are just fine. There is no flooding, no security problems and computers are not necessary to learn to read and write. There may be "industry standards" in school districts around the country that have these. But none of the bond money will contribute to EDUCATION!

The whole bond scam is to raise money to fund unnecessary BUILDINGs, COMPUTERS and SECURITY. The teachers get nothing. The students get the same angst. The contractors and vendors get rich and the taxpayers get the shaft.

Six months after the bond money is committed to contracts, the Superintendent and his buddies will be off to another school district to do it again.

I got a glimpse into our future this past Monday. I attended a band concert at Baker. I observed a group of about a dozen young people sitting behind a family. As the concert started, an adult asked the kids to quiet down. The kids continued to cut up and disrespect everyone around them. They were asked 3 times to please be quiet so the family could hear the performance only to be laughed at and mocked. My point, new buildings won't shape children. Good teachers and good examples at home will. We are failing our young people.

Rude young people in la porte? Wow, what a shock... lol forgive the snark, the rudeness is being allowed to happen both at home and in school.... Get a look at the future is absolutely right... Sad to say.... The bond will not fix this....

In answer to Elaine, there is more at stake than just education. There is safety and security. See the thread "blood on your hands."

Elaine the District does not need your vote. There are enough votes in th district who have the intelligence and understand investment to carry this election.

Just like there are kids who were not raised to respect others, I believe you are among the few who were raised to be selfish. Perhaps you were poor or poorly raised, but it is evident you are a bitter person. I fell sorry for you and apologize to all the good people in LPISD for you being here.

Having an open honest discussion about wants vs needs and where all of this money is going to come from and where and to whom this money is going, every penny of it, is not selfish, it is mature, prudent, and is fair to those who will be footing the bill.... It is what reasonable adults do. Seems the whole "accountability" thing is only for the people in charge to say whom it is for. Who is dictating terms terms to who here?

Are you planning an attack on one our schools? You seem obsessed with violence.

It seems that, rather that offer a legitimate argument for the bonds, you have to attack me personally. Get in line. Self control, personal responsibility and good financial management aren't popular with the lower classes.

Yes, I am bitter that people like you are enriching themselves at the expense of the education of our kids.

No Elaine you are just bitter. Now tell me how uneducated, lazy, and jealous I am. Come on just do it. You know you want to. It is really the only thing you know how to do, so just do it.

Not sure how better security has anything to do with this current thread. Please explain, this entire discussion has been on the funding of the Vote LPISD Bond, not on the "Security" upgrades you speak of.

The Patrons and industry are funding the improvements for our kids. That is all one really needs to know.

The real question is "who is funding the ANTI-BONDS campaign?"

These are outside LP people who have no business butting in on how we educate our kids or how much we spend on them.

How would you like someone from NY telling you that you spend too much money on your kids.

That is exactly what is happening when the Yellow Sign yankee outsiders are telling us. YOU CAN"T SPEND THAT MUCH ON YOUR KIDS.

REALLY...I know I'm voting FOR the Bonds and those YELLOW SIGN people can go to HE**! I know what we can afford. I know what we can't afford to do.
