Anyone know of anyone hiring in the LP area? My son is 16 years old and is looking to work for the summer. Any ideas??

Mowing yards was always my favorite job at that age.

Also, Yacht detailing seems to be very popular (and lucrative) for Teens. You may want to give Ike at Stingrays a call.

How about working as a sacker in a grocery store, helping carry out groceries for older people.

Thought of one more thing.......put a sign up to wash and detail cars. Usually 60 to 70 dollars a car.

Tell him to keep looking. Have him put out application every where, something will come his way. There are many food places, the grocery store is a good idea, as is the lawn mowing. Make sure he knows the proper way to dress when he is applying and interviewing, first impressions carry a lot of weight in the hiring process. It's tough for the kids to break into the working world. Also check with the city to see if they have enough lifeguards.

But I don't know that.

Definitely agree that no matter what kind of job it is always look your best when you apply and interview. Yards are good, but in our neighborhood people seem to have a yard guy. He could be creative. I wish someone would come wash my car at home for a reasonable price. Or do errands. Or just whatever someone needs. Business cards on the door is cheap and safer than putting something somewhere like Craigslist. Good luck to him.

Sugardaddy.com is hiring in the greater Houston area. However, there has to be no limits on the type of work performed.

Here is an idea. Go to some of the local churches and let the minister/priest know you are willing to do odd jobs for people who need help. He would be helping and I bet he would get some good tips.

I was a teenager during World War II. Teenagers took the jobs vacated by the service men. I worked in a petroleum lab when I was 15. Took care of washing the glass ware and worked my way up to a gas chemist during my college years. This shaped my career, however kids just don't get those kind of jobs today. That was one of the reasons my generation was the greatest generation.

It was the type of work I did as a teen and was very profitable. It is the reason that today I am a success!
