The TIFI Board and TIFI Athletic Director who rule the TIFI teams in the area should be ashamed. There is an excellent parent who would like to coach one of the teams this year who has been told "no" by the TIFI board.

The main reason you ask? He's too good. He has too much knowledge about the game and would be an unfair advantage for the team.

What? I'm not even kidding folks.

So what exactly does that mean? Someone who is volunteering their time and has more knowledge about football than most is not needed? He has a child on the team, so he's not doing this for any other reason than he wants to give his knowledge to these boys.

I think it's ridiculous! The TIFI Board and the TIFI Athletic Director should be ashamed that giving the children the best coach (volunteer coach at that) available isn't a priority. What are they afraid of exactly? That the Texan team will be stronger and the kids will learn more with this coach on board? So what they're saying is, "Let's not let our kids learn the sport with a great coach who was a college quarterback. He may know too much?" He has agreed to abide by the rules as written, but still is not allowed to coach?

Sad. Sad. Sad.

It's terrible when the adults ruin good chances for kids to become their best. Too much worry about winning. Our kids understand good sportsmanship and that learning the game is half the battle. Too bad the ruling body doesn't see it that way. Politics as usual I guess.

Saved him from what exactly? From politics? From adults who make decisions based on biases, emotion, prejudices and imaginary rules? HE JUST WANTS TO COACH THE KIDS!!!
