Now this is a good topic for us to discuss on Topix, instead of the negative dribble that seems to permeate these days. Lets get busy stocking our food bank and helping some folks around here who need a temporary helping hand. Our high school kids run a great Halloween food drive, and the holidays are always a good time to collect donations. But summer is great also, because many kids go hungry when school is out and the school kitchens are closed. Food banks need food now.

I thought the school(s) served lunch during the summer period? Am I wrong? R the school kitchens closed? What will the illegals do, starve?

Food Bank has moved from San Jacinto church due to sell of property. I this time, i cant remember where they moved to. Might call City Hall and ask.

Why call city hall? Is this a department of the city? It seems to well ran to be part of the city. Maybe you should call san jacinto church.
I hope they continue the wonderful service they provide.

You can contact City Hall because there is a "Charity Committee" that, when needed, will direct people to the food bank as well as organizing food drives for the food bank. City Hall has no control of the food bank, however they do support the help it provides citizens that are in need.
