A La Porte man is accused of crashing his vehicle with two passengers inside after a night of drinking and leaving the scene.
Charles Douglas Bailey II is charged with failure to stop and render aid. Court documents state on March 13 Bailey left Applebee's restaurant with two friends after a night of drinking. Bailey was driving the two passengers when one of them told police Bailey lost control of the vehicle, drove through a ditch and hit two curbs in the 14400 block of Crosby Lynchburg Road in Crosby.
Deputies responded to the scene of the accident and say the vehicle was inoperable. They tried to speak to one of the passengers, but deputies say he was unable to speak because he bit his tongue off during the wreck.
Investigators say the other passenger said Bailey exited the vehicle, fled the scene and never returned.
Bailey, 20, was arrested on Tuesday. He's being held without bond.
