First Bite: Lombardi's on the Bay in Patchogue

Had dinner at Lombardis On The Bay Tonight. What a spectacular Meal!! Food and service was impeccable. These other people in the other posts must have gone to a different place because we eat out a lot, and this is by far the b est restaurant this area has seen in very long time. Better than Mama Lombardi's. Great Steak & Seafood Restaurant. Maybe a little pricey for some..But..Great food, with superior portions, and wonderful service...who cares about paying a little more. You get what you pay for. And by the way the French place that was there...SUCKED BIG TIME!!.

Went to Lombardis on the Bay for dinner on Saturday 8/22. Party of 3, we were told the wait would be 20-30 minutes. Had to inquire after 30 minutes, to discover that the name on the list was recorded incorrectly, therfore, we did not respond when called, not a big deal. While waiting, I saw an employee termination, which was not loud, but might have been handled somewhere other than the maitre de podeum. The waiter and service were fine and the food was very good. The only real negative was the volume of noise in the dining room. I had to strain to hear the person across the table and speak louder than I would have preferred while leaning into the table.

Sorry, Roe. If you thought that the previous tenants of the building "sucked", then you really should go back to Friendlys, where you belong.

Eileen - if it is a special occassion there are plenty of nicer restaurants on Long ISland to go too. Lombardi's is overpriced for the food & service.

Funny reading all these comments.... I was one of a few that opened Louis. Hired as a consulting chef from Aureole‎, NYC. I worked with the (then) Sous chef Jean Claude from Lacote Basque (sp?) who honestly I was suprised to last a long as he did. From a Chef standpoint if I may, I notice most patrons overwhelmed by the location and ambiance of the building. If I were to serve you "comfort food" with excellent service would you leave the same comments? From an outsider prospective no one really elaborates on the menu by itself.

Well I was going to go tonight to the newest Lombardi establishment but after reading all the negative comments, think I will go over to Holbrook where the food IS delicioso!
I am hoping with time the food, service and wait time will all be worked out..... as I they're are in a truly great spot!

If you're going to go to Mama Lombardis in Holbrook, why not go up a few blocks and try Mamas,(not Lombardis). Now, THAT's good Italian food!

I had the perfect evening tonight! Great food, great service, terrific drinks! Price was too be expected for the restaurant. If you want a cheap meal go to Applebees!! I would highly recommend it!!

Had my 2 year anniversary at Lombardi's on the Bay last night and the service and food was amazing! The manager seemed to really keep things moving and the atmosphere was very traditional. As a business owner of the area, I am going to give my employees gift certificates to this place on Christmas.
