Sounds like Ronald Dorsa wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed for putting a child at risk. Thank God the child is okay.

How many people will show up here stating what a great guy he was?

I actually felt bad for the guy when I read the story last night. That was before Newsday reported that he took the car and the kid without permission.

I'm glad the kid is ok, but the father was a stooge.

If I’m an insufferable jerk, what do you call someone who steals a car, crashes it and puts the life of an innocent child at risk?
Any suggestions, Genius?

You're from Bethpage. Shouldn't you be at the Open wearing your Fred Flintstone slicker and collecting deposit cans or panhandling for spare change?

Sad story but one question, do they teach common sense these days to the younger people? This guy must have been a product of a parent who locked him inside with a air purifier and video game. sorry.

Darwinism at it best.

It sounds more like Dorsa endangered his child from the start of this story. Taking the car with the child then crashing THEN running across what sounds to be a desolate stretch of highway.

Saved his son? yes. Saved him from himself. That boy now stands a chance at life.

Question, has anyone ever heard of sensationalism? Guess what the news doesnt always tell the full story! People make me sick, have you all forgotten that this young man had two sisters and parents that are beside themselves right now? I have fond memories of Ronnie as I said before i knew him personaly! So again a little compassion for a HUMAN BEING that had his life cut short! I'm sure all of you would want the same for a friend or loved one of your own!

"Ronald Dorsa
DORSA - Ronald, suddenly on June 17, 2009. Loving father of Braydon. Cherished son of Anthony and Marilyn. Beloved brother of Nicole and Karla. Also survived by Valerie Vaccaro (mother of Braydon). Visiting will be held on Friday only from 6-9pm. Reposing at Marinello Funeral Home, Inc., 493 Middle Country Road, Coram. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Hope House Ministries, Port Jefferson"

Hope House huh? So Ron had a bit of a drug habit did he? This sheds some light on this story. A drug addict, Dorsa was a drug addict.

Let me say again, a HUMAN BEING has lost his life! Do any of you people believe in the Lord? I will say a prayer for everyone that is filled with such negative thoughts! I will pray that God can help you all with feeling compassion!

1 John 3:17. The definition of compassion must include human kindness as well as good deeds. Someone cannot have human kindness in them unless they have the love for others. God is the best example of compassion. He loves all of mankind whether or not any one individual loves Him or not. Because of this love, God desires to bless us. As our Creator, He desires us to be as compassionate as Him and show human kindness to others. To be compassionate we must have love in us that compels us to do good deeds. If we just do good deeds for someone, but we have no love for that person we are not compassionate. We have no human kindness (1Co 13:3, "And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing"). In fact, if you have something to give and do not give it to someone in need, you have no compassion or the love of God in you (1 John 3:17, "But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? ").
