Where and what is your favorite either seafood or Home Cookin'restaurant/diner in the area. Hubbie is working down there again for extended period and real familiar with the good places (not necessarily "chains".

Thanks!

Hey - lived in Mobile for all of my 31 years.

Not sure what part of town your hubby is in, but tell him to try Neighbor's on Three Notch Road for good home cooking & awesome crab claws.

Dick Russell's on Highway 90 has a killer breakfast - the biscuits & peach preserves are legendary.

Time to Eat is a tiny little hole in the wall in a Food World shopping center in Theodore, but the food is well worth the lack of atmosphere.

For seafood, the Lighthouse on Padgett Switch Road in Irvington has good, fresh cheap seafood (though he'll need to enlist a local for directions I'm sure).

Seafood places on the "Causeway" (Highway 90 between Mobile & Baldwin Counties) tend to be hit or miss, and somewhat overpriced. The Originial Oyster House is very, very good, Ed's - people either love or hate, Oysterella's thinks they are better than they are and the prices show it, and Felix's is good if a bit haughty.

Don't miss out on Wintzell's for seafood, either. Several locations around town, all are equally good. Fresh oysters and buffalo shrimp.

Some people swear by Tiny Diny and Big Time Diner. I'm ambivalent.

Tell your hubby to keep his eyes open. The best restaurants down here are often well off the beaten path and the hardest to find.

Daily Horoscope for December 30

Cancer

Discussions and meetings go really well today because you're finding it easy to put your thoughts into words. You'll also show that you respect other people's viewpoints even if they don't coincide with your own. It's a good day for making domestic plans, and some of these will be quite ambitious without being unrealistic or far-fetched.
