they are ignoring those driving home from the bars. the DWI checkpoints are advertised and ended before the bars close. Silver PD would not bother at all if there were not funding behind it. the extent of their policing capabilities is tickets for rolling stops at 4 way stop signs.
It's not the cops fault, it's the judges who fail to lay down the hammer.

I agree with all of you who say he shouldn't have been allowed to drive with his record. My Uncle Rob would still be alive right now if someone would have had the sense to take his license away. The hardest part of all this was that they brought the man into the hospital for blood testing (he refused a breathalyzer) while we were all there after my uncle died. He was in the room next to the waiting room we were in and the door had a window in it...
Real sorry to hear this as well, salt in the wound and it should have been recognized as such by the authorities and handled differently-like everything else in regards to this case.

I've had interactions with this guy many times before around town. Always felt an almost uncontrollable urge to deck him. Now I know why...effin scum. While it won't do anything to bring back your uncle, I hope they FINALLY take this guy off the streets for good. I for one would feel real good knowing my tax dollars were buying him a cell and crap for dinner for as long as it takes.

It's not the cops fault. It's not the judges fault. It's actually OUR fault for electing politicians who write laws that let dirtballs like this off with lenient sentences. When THERE IS NO hammer to be let down, these guys are gonna keep walking away with slap-on-the-wrist sentences. We lost the death penalty to touchy-feely liberal politicians. We have NO Castle Doctrine for the same reason. As long as people keep voting an "ethnic-liberal" vote and keep putting these slug politicans back in over and over again, NOTHING is going to change.

Hi five!! "old man" assumes he guilty was Mexican.. Only made an ass off himself! Thanks for pointing out that he was a "gringo" and that he shouldn't be "thanking". He should be thinking!! Drinking and driving is wrong! It doesn't matter which ethnicity you belong too!! I know many bikers who ride to benefit the children and ill. Just because bikers are at blues fest does not put them in the wrong! Those in glass houses shall not cast stones!!

I would say the blame lies of course on the individual but also on NM piss poor excuse for Law Enforcment and piss poor excuse for state legislation for not making stricter laws for local law enforcment to enforce. In Grant county even that may not help because we have law enforcement that looks the other way and doesnt do anything. I saw my neigbor beat is wife to a pulp and when the cops showed up they didnt arrest the guy. Pretty sad excuse for law enforcment around here.

And excuses for Judges and District Attorney's.
They hand out probation/parole to murderers, rapists, child molesters, etc. We literally have psychos walking around; and the Judges and District Attorneys stick up their noses and laugh. As long as they have their $100k salaries, they don't care. No one goes to prison for anything in Corruption County.

And every time someone complains about this they play the race card. Sorry, but Mexican is NOT a race. It's a nationality.

Not so fast....for an arrest to take place, there has to be a someone who files a complaint. If the wife didn't file a complaint, then an arrest will NOT happen. And many times these women won't file a complaint becasue they know their "breadwinner" will stop supporting them and their kids, or beat them even worse when the police leave.

Well said, although I don't know if they are making huge paychecks. I think it's more a power trip or a liberal agenda (as is the case with Mary Lynne Newell). For sure there is a catch-and-release revolving door policy in the DA's office.
