I went to nominate them. Unfortunately my enthusiasm overwhelmed my ability to read details and I failed to note that nominations don't start until Feb. 1.

Here is a question for locals: What do you think about the switch by Blake's to Sandias? I find their heat to overwhelm the rest of the burger, but (1) I am not a native of NM (California by way of Texas, but please don't hold that against me.) and (2) Having babies killed a lot of my ability to tolerate spicy food.

Blake's is using Sandias? Nice. I may have to go try one. I don't like Blake's that much- Good burgers, don't get me wrong, but kinda pricey and traditionally, that chile they use, just hasn't been hot. All of my life. Now, it may be, I'll have to see.

If Blake's would use Barkers, which are HOT, and use a handmade patty and make it twice as thick, the chili would not overpower the salt, black pepper and hamburger. I would pay more for it.

Burger Nook has a very good burger but the green chili is not very hot...the last Blakes I had some very noticable chili...Owl bars was always about as good as they get but last one I had there was mild...
Where in Las Cruces can you get a chili relleno that deserves a salute? All I find these days are very bland and tasteless...

The relleno burritos at One Stop are pretty good--
Go Burger has a decent relleno burrito-
Habanero's is pretty good too--
If that one burrito wagon is still over on Solano by the old Andy Granatellis Tune Up Masters, THAT place had a MEAN chile relleno burrito-
I also think Daves food truck,(it's on Solano/Amador at lunchtime, during the week,) has a relleno burrito. If not, try their red enchilada plate. That food truck is really good.
Roberto's relleno burritos are okay...Compas are okay...

Rellenos at emiliase in mesilla are real good not doughy or greasy. But went in the other day and they will only make them seasonal now. So I had a chili burger one of the best in town!
